Republic Commando (game) stuff (possible spoilers)

Since the game's are C-level canon (apart of game mechanics). Here's somethings about the clone commandos (from the official Republic Commando website.

First the primary weapon of commados (the DC-17m) is modular, it has a stock mount that has the handle, trigger, shoulder stock and a ammo count indicator. weapons has (at least) 3 attachments (carbine, sniper rifle and a anti-armor weapon).

second the Grievous' bodyguards/henchmen are IG-100 series Magnaguard droids and seem carry some sort of a personal cloaking device (from the game trailer) as they seem to capable of becoming (almost) invisible for a unknown time.

this may be in conflict with the book Republic Commando:Hard Contact or other higher canon if so please tell me.

Weapons systems jives with the book.. the DC-17m is mentioned to have carbine, sniper AND AT. Dont know anything about Grievious...HARD CONTACT happens after events shown in the game...by about a year I think.

The cloaking device on the IG-100s fit in with established canon, since other Separatist droids like the Commerce Guild Chameleon droids use them as well. (In case anyone was wondering ;))

well since those droids and Gen Grievous are still present in ROTS, when Hard Contact happens is not so relevant. And for the DC-17m, a modular gun makes some sence for a commando team where every team member must be capable making each others duties to a degree.

It also makes sense as the droids have only a Electrostaff and missile launcher so they're powerful at melee or long range, but not short (non-melee) or medium range. So a cloak would allow them approach their target with out being shot to pieces (like that Orc in the WH40K:Dawn of War opening cinematic).

Hard Contact also features a different squad.

Hard Contact is Omega Squad, Republic Commando is IIRC Delta squad.

But yeah, it's got all the fun modular bits in HC.
