I was thinking about the EU, and wondered why there hasn't been a site that offers research material for EU authors. At the very least it could make its presence known to the publishers as a way of maintaining the SW universe.
Obviously SD.net is already a great source of information, but perhaps a page specifically designed for authors.

Continuity guide for EU authors
Moderator: Vympel
Many authors do research site like tis one for info, and do raid fan groups for ideas. I recall there being something where an author stole a persons online nick for a character name, and in a few authors books there are "thanks to" lists that include fan sites, IE Zahn thanked a Mara Jade group in SoP

Re: Continuity guide for EU authors
The EU authors have their own "network". They go to each other for help and there is an official Lucas rep who keeps continuity in line. And yeah, some authors do hang out on newsgroups. Aaron Allston and Mike Stackpole have posted in alt.fan.wedge often when they were writing the X-Wing series.Crom wrote:I was thinking about the EU, and wondered why there hasn't been a site that offers research material for EU authors. And my god some people would praise his shit as if it were roses.
I swear they are his inspiration of how 'good' he was doing.
