What ever happened to Guri?

I've finished reading Shadows of the Empire and toward the end Luke sees that one of the gliders that was on Xizors landing pad was gone and that most likely Guri took it after Luke bitchslapped her. Is there any reference of what happened to her in the EU or did she pretty much dissapear?

If I remember correctly from what I read on the net, she kills a bunch of other people and is reprogrammed by her creator because she doesn't want those memories anymore nor her assassin programming and Dash Rendar buys her a drink.

There is a followup graphic novel entitled Shadows of the Empire: Evolution in which Guri seeks out a scientist to reprogram her to no longer be an assasin droid. During this quest of hers she stumbles into a plot by the remnents of Black Sun and also encounters the magnificent five heros of the rebellion. And of course at the very end she sets off to start a new life and meets another character Dash Rendar

That'd be kind of hard, as Rendar was dead. :P

Can I throw up into a bucket now?

This is SO clichè!

Wait a minute, that was serious? What the hell? Dash Rendar got blown up at the end of SotE. :wtf:

If you play the Nintendo 64 game just right, it turns out that he escaped from the Skyhook when it blew - when it looked as though the Outrider hit a chunk of debris, it just jumped out of sight.

Nope, retconned by Evolution to hold up that the alternate in the SoTE game is what really happened.

No matter how silly it was.

Appearntly Dash did survive, according to the game, and has been laying low ever since. The Essential Guides suggest that Dash might have escaped by using a escape pod that was behind the cockpit, though it also suggests that he made it out with his ship intact.

I don't think it could have been the pod that saved him, as escape pods, I think, don't carry hyperdrives: had he used it, he would have either been found floating around by the Rebels or the Empire or been destroyed by all the debris from the Skyhook's explosion.

I'm pretty sure the SotE novel doesn't explicit descibe his death. It just days he flies headlong in to the skyhook explosion and leia goes "OMFG! NO one could possibly be a good enoguh pilot to come out off THAT alive!!!!!"

Even worse...there was a bright flash of light and afterwards Lando goes "He...he's gone."

Really a maybe death at best.

The N64 game suggests that he jumped to lightspeed just before he would have died, and figures he'd be more famous as a matyr and doesn't want to get involved with the Rebellion.

A blind jump in close proximity to a disintegrating skyhook that's tossing chunks of itself everywhere in low planetary orbit in Coruscant space with a fighter battle going on nearby? I could just about guarantee he'd hit something.

The odds of him making it would have been very low, but he's Corellian, so what good are odds?

Hes in the last comic of Evolutions so its pretty clear he did survive no matter what he did.

Dash Rendar survived... my god, what a typical way to cheapen a character death. "Oh yeah, he actually lived, even though you saw him die." :x

Anakin Skywalker did almost the same in Jedi Trial (he wasn't in Corusant Space, but otherwise the same thing).

But you didnt see him die. You saw a flash and then he wasnt there. I always thought he launched a missile at the junk and did some fancy evasive action and then jumped out.

A Hyperspace jump would have been impossible. He was well within Corscant'shyperspace mass shadow thingie.

They had already reached vacuum. If the Falcon can jump from within Byss' atmosphere, a little gravity out in vacuum won't hurt.
