Lego Episode III catalogue. Notice that the "Clone Turbo Tank" picture includes:

- A Clone Scout Trooper on a (larger) speeder bike
- A Clone "Sky Trooper" as first revealed in Art of Revenge (the concept of a sky trooper, not the look) and further strengthened by a picture in the next Clone Wars series preview
- A Battle Droid manning some sort of support weaponry
- One of those (silly) open-cockpit scout walker designs

Other half of the pic

I like that big fighter/gunship thing with the clones in it. ARC-170. Although I hate the three wing a side, thing. But they have a turret to cover their arse.

Very Space: Above and Beyond. Or WW2, which I think is a lot more likely :)

I like the Sky Trooper idea. That's awesome.

In the 2nd half of the pic there's what looks like a repulsorlift light assault vehicle that clones are using.

I agree. I had my hopes that there would be other, more battle-ready two-legged walkers in RotS, but that hope is dwindling...

Maybe they built the open-cockpit design first, realised it sucked after battle experience, then redesigned it as the AT-ST.

Thats the second vehicle seen with troops being exposed to enemy fire and the elements, the first being the AT-TE with the exposed gunner for the main cannon. Bad design for a military vehicle.

Of course it's a bad design, which is why I'm saying that it gets replaced a couple years later.

Well, if we delve into EU a bit, we have the "AT-XT" which was basically the direct prototype for the AT-ST. I'd assume that this open-cockpit walker is meant to serve a different role from the AT-ST, more "behind-the scenes" than actual front line.

Hopefully Saxton will come up with a good explanation.

Woot! Air troopers! :D

But what's odd is the fighter that looks a lot like a TPM droid fighter, but has Republic markings on it. :?

Hmm, I like the Tri fighter on the second half. Looks neat. The very retro, if not primitive, Wookie designes suck.

Looks quite neat.
Notice, in the second image

A. The Big tracked droid vehicle on the beach.

B. What is that Grievous is escaping in? What is Kenobi riding?

C. The various wookie and Republic hovercraft. Since we don't see any at Hoth or Endor, can we assume that the Empire no longer uses hovercraft as light, fast-moving support vehicles, but only as tiny speeders? Why would they do that, do you think?

Nah, that's just the quality of the pic. This pic clearly shows the Seperatist emblem.[/url]

Ah, okay that makes sense. Though I thought the CIS had trashed that design... ah well.

I think the Tri wings looks like the Chiss fighters. :?

Sigh, I see alot of people never visited the Ep. III sticky thread these past months.... :P

The vehicles are:

- Droid fighter
- Eta-2 Actis Jedi fighter
- ARC-170 starfighter
- A5 Juggernaut ("Turbo tank" my ass)
- Barc Speeder (with the green scout trooper)
- AT-RT walker (looks like an AT-PT with no roof)
- Tri-droid fighter
- Wheel Bike (Gen. Grievous´transport)
- Boga lizard (Obi-Wan´s transport)
- Wookie catamaran and fighter (Dragonflyer, I think it was called)
- Swamp Speeder (the two-man Republic craft)
- Corporate Alliance Droid Tank (driven by a droid crew, not automated like the ones cut from AOTC)
- Commerce Guild Dwarf Spider w/bigger cannon
Since we don't see any at Hoth or Endor, can we assume that the Empire no longer uses hovercraft as light, fast-moving support vehicles, but only as tiny speeders? Why would they do that, do you think?
First of all, the shield around Echo base would fuck with their electronics or whatever they use as an excuse, that´s why the Empire only used walkers that could pass through the shields.

Second of all, there´s no need for swamp speeders when there is no swamp near the bunker on Endor. And the speeder bikes carry the role of the Barc speeders. (Though both are used by the Republic during the CW.)

Someone tell me the ARC 170 only has those wing panels open sometimes. Please. Like, airbrakes, or turning, or anything. Anything other than X-winging up a WW2 fighter. It can't be that, right?

It's too early to tell.

Yep, it appears that way, on both the Eta-2 and the ARC-170. You can see the indentation on the wings where the flaps fit in the ARC-170, and the panels on the Eta-2.

A Boga.

We can't assume that Empire doesn't use them. At Hoth they had to penetrate a shield, something repulsorlift vehicles can't do. And at Endor, they just sent a small task force to the rear entrance to catch the dozen or so rebels expected. Neither event showed the Imperial vehicle arsenal in its entirety.

Judging by a picture in the latest Insider, they are indeed S-foil designs.

That dosent fit into the whole chronlogical thing though that the game "The Clone Wars" which takes place 1 month after The battle of Geonosis. In that game there are Clone Wars era AT-ST's i forgot the name i dont have the game with me right now i cant look up the name though

Since both AT-PTs and
i cant look up the name though
AT-XTs fought in the Clone Wars as well, this AT-RT is probably a cheaper scout walker, where protection from anywhere but the front must be provided by the Clonetrooper´s own armor.

Interesting stuff... That walker sure brings back RotJ memories.

Heh, I always get a kick out of seeing Bionicle parts recycled into new Lego sets... Grievous's ride has classic Toa arms for its legs. I still can't look at the Lego Slave 1 without laughing at how it has Pohatu's toes mounted on its wings.

Maybe they have a shield generator a la droideka, later abandoned in favor of using solid armor w/ all power to weapons? It's a progression from balance to offensive that fits the Imperial M O.

...Probably it's just a stupid design though.
