i just had a question, in the issue of Empire the second part of the Clone Trooper with Luke Skywalker, the issue before that horendous Empire Boba Fett issue

When Luke and his Commander is telling the Clone Trooper what happend after the war theres a page that is an illustration spanning the pages. It has the Prequel people on the left and the OT people on the right with Anakin in the center. now in the center under Anakin theres a girl Jedi with a purple blade, ive been meaning to ask who is that suppose to be. The Lightsaber hilt has a kinda living look to it. I thought Vegere at first but i dont know and dont think so now

I presume she's human. Which rules out Vergere. Vergere is, as I recall, avian. I don't suppose you have a scan or something.

Maybe Anakin Solo's love interest, Tahiri?

That has to be one of the worst depictions of Chewie I've ever seen.

And it's fascinating that in the midst of an obviously exciting moment, Mace still takes the opportunity to cop a feel on Ayla.

When you have Bad-Ass Motherfucker on your lightsaber...you are capable of a great many things :P .

So that's why Kit Fisto looks so mad. (and yeah Chewie is really bad)

Living? nah. Ornate, certainly. Not made out of old light fittings and whatnot, like Luke's :)

That hilt is one of the best I've seen. Looks more like a work of art than a weapon. Truly a "more elegant weapon for more civilized times".

And who's this Dark Woman?

Briefly, she's a Jedi Master who renounced her name, on the principle that Jedi should have no attachments, even names. She teaches the problem padawans, the ones who are skirting the dark side.

She's the one who taught and abandoned Aurra Sing, which led to Sing becoming the Jedi-hunting bounty hunter.

In one of the SW comics, Vader goes after the Dark Woman in his Jedi purge-- he confronts her, and they duel, but eventually she does the whole fade-into-the-Light thing. She's pretty unique as far as the Jedi go, iirc... more or less deliberately working closely with the Dark Side, rather than actively avoiding it.

That was Star Wars Tales... came up in the first or second graphic novel. 'Twas a good story indeed. Same series that brought us a rather kick-ass Vader vs. Clone Maul duel.

Yeah, it was a terrible rendering of me.

I have all four volumes of SW Tales. The Vader/Maul duel is the absolute best one.
Maul: "What could you hate enough, to destroy me?"

Vader: "Myself.
does SW Tales count as "infinities" or does it have a place within canon?

SW tales counted as Infinites...I believe until issue #20 they were all considered infinites

It's Star Wars Tales #21 where Darkhorse actually said this was the first issue to have continuity within and not have the infintes label on it.

I have yet to hear Lucasfilms side to that stance.

Just so long as that putrid fanwankery of Boba Fett vs. Darth Vader while chasing Han is buried under the Infinities level of canon, I'm happy.

Blech.

The Fett vs Vader miniseries if we're thinking of the same one was actually pretty decent.

The fight itself pretty much involves Fett running A LOT. He unloads everything he has on Vader and still can't stop him. The only thing that keeps him alive is threatening to destroy some precog capable head Vader was after. That and Vader decides he might be more useful alive.

Basically Fett got his ass kicked in a very big way. The only other time Fett came up against a dark sider and lived involved judicious use of his wrist lasers and rocket darts and of course, running. In the comics / books he's portrayed as being able to own just about any non-force user but when he does run up against force users without any elaborate traps or careful planning, he does what any sane person does: run like hell.

Nah, that was different... that was the Enemy of the Empire series, which was... adequate. The actual fight between Fett and Vader was the high point, and it was fairly well done.

However, I refer to this atrocity...

There was a short in Star Wars Tales where they send Fett after Han right after he defects. But Vader decides that the defection of one piddly lieutenant is also worthy of his attention and personally goes after Solo as well... Han is hiding on Tattooine, of course, and in the midst of chasing him, Vader and Fett go head to head, then Fett breaks out a lightsaber and...

*shudder*

I can't tell any more. Reading that story caused roughly sixteen percent of my brain cells to euthanize themselves. The others would have followed, but they were frozen by horror.
