About Ewoks' eating habits

In ROTJ ewoks were going to cook Han Solo alive to honor their god
C-3PO...what this tells about ewoks eating habits and their normal methods of food preparation?
Do they normaly prepare their food by cooking it alive? And what they consider as food? Other sentient beings? Or is the occasion where Solo was ment to be cooked just an exception to the rule, because he was ment to be the main dish for their god?

They like the taste of roasted meat, and all of their gods love suffering.

I dont think there was any source that would show difinitive proof of how they cook their food unless some one wants to watch the Ewok movies or watch the cartoon.

They look like they'd be carnivores or omnivores to me.
For what it's worth I'd think trying to cook everything alive would be troublesome; your dinner would have a tendency to keep trying to crawl out of the pot.

watch the Ewok movies
Saw them once when I was four. Curses to my good memory! Ewoks with ponies, dumb little kids getting sucked into ponds with forcefields at the surface keeping them in, parents in a wooden cage, a witch with a ring that could turn into a raven.... *tweak*
Thanks for bringing back all of that supressed trauma!

We do know they bait their traps with "cooked meat".

If there's one thing I learned from the Ewok movies, it was that guinea pigs, llamas, and goats exist in the SW universe, and on Endor no less!

I don't think it was cooked. Han said it was "just a dead animal" and it looked like a lump of meat and fur. The odd part was that the bait was up so high, and the net was so big.

An ewok roast a day keeps the doctor away.

Don't forget ducks in TPM.
A Jedi takes to the Force like a duck to water or some such.

the ewoks are probably ominivorous. they're pretty intelligent and studies show that omnivorous animals often have more intelligence than their more specialized brethren. even carnivores do not need the advanced knowledge of where food sources occur and how to access them like omnivores do.
an example would be bears. they are considered by many trainers to be more intelligent than wolves and big cats. primates are another example.

they probably had no intention of eating han and luke anyway. they probably would have normally sacrificed one of their own assuming that gods are above them and therefore eat them, but why sacrifice a lowly ewok when c3p0 could have these bigger meatier things they captured.

Didn't you ever watch Space 1999? clearly the Death Star's explosion pushed Endor out of orbit and it drifted until it started orbiting Sol. That explains why the falling props..errr... rocks had 9.8 ms^2 acceleration. And the moon as we know it is really a big chunk of the Death Star that's been covered with dust over time.

it should be noted that they had no trace of canines, or any huge, meat-shearing teeth, which would be the case if they were really carnivorous.

Wasn't that in the ANH novelization?
