When DID Leia started trusting her rescuers?

Captured. Transport destroyed. Incarcerated within a secret space-borne mobile fortress / weapon platform. Just witnessed the destruction of her planet.

I'm sure Leia's not stupid enough to just rush out and embrace any rescuer. Especially if she's combat trained and know about Imperial Intelligence and their operations. So, when did she fully trust Han, Luke and Chewie enough to bring them to Yavin 4?

Was it because they fired on Imperial stormtroopers? Surely undercover Destabilize agents have done worse to uncover Rebel bases.

Was it because they were all trapped in the garbage compactor? She should have been pretty suspicious to have the walls stop at the last moment, and is that "Threepio" this Luke person comlinked even a real droid?

Was it because Luke said they had Kenobi with them? Leia mentioned Kenobi by name in her hologram. If the Empire caught the droids and her holo, surely she knows that the Empire would slice the recording and discovered her message with Kenobi's name.

Was that even the real Kenobi who's seemingly duelling with Darth Vader in the hangar bay?

So... anyone have any idea why she willingly brought them to Yavin 4 without checking out if they weren't Ubiqtorate agents?

I think maybe she slightly trusted Luke. It is obvious she didn't trust Han much at all. Perhaps it was the pesence of a enslaved 'free' wookie that made her feel they were legit.

But most likely...the fact he called Him BEN Kenobi a name maybe she knew that only someone who KNEW Kenobi personally would have known. After all in the messege she only called him Obi Wan Kenobi after all

Ben Kenobi was the key. Also, Luke said that they had her R2 unit. The Imperials didn't know what kind of droid it was.

Unless they had the droid already, but then the ruse would not have been needed

she really wasnt in much of a position to resist, and the stormtroopers shot at luke han and chewie with every intent to kill them. i mean if im on the death star and these two guys and a wookie are getting me out of there i guess im going to get out of there

Probably almost immediatly.
They had R2, knew about Kenobi and to top it of their totaly incompetent rescue attempt.

Precisely. Wookies, droids, and names can all be forged, but any Imperial ruse of a rescue would be far more competant.

I'm sure Luke's wholesome farmboy image won her over immediately. If it were some sneering Brit who rushed into her cell wearing plain clothes and claiming he was there to rescue her, I think she would have been more hesitant to trust him.

The whole sensitivity to the force thang probably had a lot to do with it.

I wonder if in ROTS if Obi-Wan is ever called Ben on screen...that would be kind of neat.

I agree with others, when Luke said Ben, she became all excited, before that I would't be suprised if she did suspect them to be faux rescuers.
