Exact TIE Wing on an ISD?

It's common knowledge that the standard ISD TIE Wing is 6 squadrons (1 interceptor, 1 bomber, 4 fighter, with one fighter squadron phased out for interceptors by Endor). However, things are more complex according to the RPG sourcebooks and the Thrawn Trilogy.
A while ago, when the sourcebooks were online, I remembered reading that an ISD actually carries an interceptor squadron, a bomber squadron (or TIE/gt, for lower priority vessels), 3 fighter squadrons, and a recon squadron. It was also stated that some ships had a "training squadron" in place of one of the fighter squadrons. What kind of ship was used in a training squadron? Normal TIE/ln? Stripped down training versions of the TIE/ln? Or something else entirely?
The composition of a recon squadron wasn't made clear, but it's a safe to assume that it uses the TIE/rc. Going by the descriptions of "Recon Flight" in the Scimitar Assault Wing being composed of "equal numbers" of TIE/rc and TIE/ln, a recon Squadron should be composed of 6 TIE/rc and 6 TIE/ln escorts (1 squadron = 3 flights). Recon squadrons were also mentioned during the Katana Fleet battle at the end of Dark Force Rising.
One thing that confused me was the number of TIE/fc that an ISD carried. It's been a long time since I last saw the sourcebooks, so I don't remember the exact words. I believe it stated "2-4 TIE/fc in a fighter squadron." Does that mean there are 2 or 4 TIE/fc in only one of the fighter squadrons, or that each fighter squadron had TIE/fc? Can anyone with the sourcebooks help me out with this?
If my assumptions about the TIE/rc are correct, and with the presence of the TIE/fc, it would mean that the 3 or 4 "fighter squadrons" mentioned in most EU sources mean specialized TIE/ln derivatives as well as actual TIE/ln fighters.
