What is a prefabricated base exactly?

From various non-canon sources we know that ISD carry a few "prefabricated bases".
What are "prefabricated bases" exactly? I mean how big is it? What does it consist of? What are its defences? How is it deployed, etc.

first it's
C-Level Canon (N-level is irrelevant) and far as I can tell it's rapid deploy base that can be used house a small garrison with probaly only limited self-defence weapon (E-web and maybe some AT/AA weapons.) (nte I don't know the exact specs).

It can hold 40 TIEs, has 3 double TL cannon, and 6 twin laser cannon IIRC. I can't recall how many stormtroopers can be housed. A prefab garrison is a substantial defensive postition.

ISD hold at least one(perhaps more) prefabricated bases. The 40 TIE you mentioned, is it inclusive or exclusive of the 72 fighters already stationed on the ISD?

I would say it depends mode of deployment of said bases. after an ISD has enough space to hold more craft then 72 (an Nimitz-class carrier has airwing of 85 (IIRC) and it only about 300 m).

When Vader threatened to leave a garrison on Bespin, was this the kind of base he was referring to?

I don't think so. I'm guessing that he meant leaving a permanent Imperial presence in the City.

Probably not. Bespin had all facilities so all that would be required would be a garisson.

I don't know if you count games also. But in Force Commander in cut scenes and in game you can see and have a prefabricated base. That thing is put down by a really big machine resembling a carryall from Dune and the building is operational at once.
