Sremmuy (Sue Rostoni)
Date Posted: Feb 28, 2005 12:16 PM

sremmuy- I read an article on Variety. It says that
Lucasfilm has gone through some re-organization. One
of the things that was mentioned was that some of
licensing was going way done, and that star wars
video games looks very good for the future. I know
that you've got the book part of it nailed till 2008,
but does all thses internal changes and leadership
uncertainty change any plans for the future of star
wars?

Licensing going "way done?" Do you mean "way down?" The reorganization brought all the companies (LucasArts, ILM, etc) together again as part of Lucasfilm. There isn't any internal or leadership uncertainty -- we're very solid, and the future of Star Wars looks good. Not to worry, we aren't going anywhere.

Certainly throws his "LUCASLISCENSINGS GONE ROUGUE!!!!1!!11!!" swamp-ass idea into the shit-hole. . .not that he'll ever admit that of course. He'll go on with his "THAT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING!!!1! LL'S NOT PART OF LUCASFILM!!!1!!1! SUE ROSTONI CAN'T SAY THAT!!!!1!1!!!

(Yes, I know he doesn't write in all caps like that, but I thought it conveyed his pure idiocy better than normal type. )

Chekov: "You KNOW what he'll say."

"She has to say that, no one is going to publically admit their company is in disarray." And BTW I had no idea he was digging that deep for shit in that he is now arguing that Lucaslicensing has gone rogue in order to buttress his shitty arguments. Why is this asshole even relevant anymore?

Excellent, show this to RSA.

Oh, man. This is too good. This is like a Christmas/birthday/wedding/honeymoon.

Well, maybe not that good. But, still, it's awesome. Nice work, Wayne.

George Lucas himself could walk up to RSA and say "you're full of shit; the EU counts", and RSA would write long vitriolic essays about how the word "counts" is not the same thing as "canon", and how the Warsies are all lying about what Lucas really meant.

We've already seen in the Wong-vs-Darkstar debate that the Rabid Stupid Asshole will throu out ANYTHIG from Rostini since she is "with Lucasbooks, not LucasFilm" and that she is only talking about the separate universe EU continuity.

He'd claim it wasn't the real George Lucas; it was a clone or an imposter or an android and then go to say that Lucas never meant what he said, he or any of his robot duplicates or lawyers, and that only HIS version of reality is what truly counts for anything blah blah blah blahblahblahblahblahblah...

No, I think Wong is right. Your solution is too simple, RSA likes to write long essays about things that are blatantly obvious to everyone else (see the arrow in the troopers back).

Darkstar is still claiming over at the strek-v-swars that Licensing is a seperate entity. Oh brother.

RSA is DarkStar, right?

Yes. Robert Scott Anderson is DarkStar.

EDIT: Also, Praxis brushes up on something that a lot of people seem to forget: that DarkStar isn't stupid. Rather, he's someone with a strong debate position along with major vendettas against certain persons who are also involved in such debates. The fact that he attempts to be so manipulative with his arguements and spends so much time with them shows clearly at the least that he knows what he's doing.

You could say the same thing about the people who promote 9/11 conspiracy theories. He's not what I could call "intelligent" in a technical sense, ie- he doesn't have a fraction of what it would take to get an engineering degree, but he's fairly good with rhetoric and he is amazingly dedicated to his crusade. This is what he uses to fill the void in his life where a girlfriend would normally be.

Mean, but funny. It could be some truth to this.

I would use such words as "crafty", "resilient" and "sly", like a rat.

That idiot is always hilarious. Magne, point out to Robert Scott Asstard that Rostoni has no problem whatsoever with the english language. And she said explicitly that all the companies (LucasArts, ILM, etc) are together again as part of Lucasfilm.

Congratulations must go out to Vympel for tearing RSAsstard a new one over his canon policy. I read that thread daily and laugh my ass off.

Yes, but it's impossible to reason with Darkstar. Vympel made an excellent rebuttal in that thread, but Darkstar will shrug it off with the same semantics and technicalities he always has been using, and the others will of course blindly follow what he says without thinking for themselves for one second. The best one could do in a situation such as this would IMO be to point to the absurdities of his arguments without addressing him directly. He made a point about my language (I had written in an other thread that there could be slip-ups, I had written "inconsistencies" where it should have been "preponderances", and I mentioned the fact that English isn't my native language) and I answered him as well-behaved as possible. I mean, I know that I'm at least is making myself understood and that while there at times can be a few grammatical errors, they aren't overwhelming.

EDIT: Good, you saw Vympel's excellent post.

:) Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I since edited the post to tighten up the argument a bit more, the level of double-standards is really galling.

1. "See here, Sansweet said the movies are "the only true canon, that means everything else is lies!"

Response: He also says in the very same quote that there are degrees of canon. Therefore,bBy definition, this literal true/lie dichotomy cannot be so.

2. "That's only the novelization!"

Response: Sansweet never said anything about the novelization. Of course, Sansweet when he as an "LL" employee by RSA's model listed the novelizations, scripts, radio dramas etc as being on the canon scale, but since when does RSA give a shit about that? He's the one who claims that this quote is somehow "overriden"- you know, the same pesky quote that confers the EU "quasi-canon" status?

3. "Sansweet quoted Cerasi who mentioned the novelizations as accurate descriptions of the films!"

So what? By the RSA model, Cerasi is of LucasBooks. Since when does he give a fuck what they think? Oh ... that's right- only when convenient. And besides, since Sansweet quoted Cerasi- just what is the problem of us going to Chee/Rostoni etc when looking for answers?

4. "Sansweet quoting Cerasi gives Cerasi additional weight over those others!"

No he fucking doesn't. He specifically says: "While issues like these are often best left to each individual's "point of view", here's what LucasBooks' Chris Cerasi had to say..."

Frankly, if anyone thinks such shoulder-shrugging is some sort of impripatur of an "LFL" policy, they're delusional.

And besides, Cerasi in that quote doesn't say the EU is inadmissible lies. He says they're part of the continuity.

5. "When he said that he was talking about LucasBooks/Lucas Licensing/ Whatever! Earlier in the quote he was talking about Lucasfilm policy!"

What the fuck? Where does he make that distinction?

6. "A distinction isn't required!"

Ok ....

Hey Vympel, you might want to mention to Idiot Boy that Cerasi no longer works for LFL, and hasn't in quite a while. So Chee/Rostoni are it for right now.

I still can't believe the audacity of DarkTard for claiming that his "analysis" of bits and pieces of George Lucas' sentences gives him greater insight into the mind of Lucas than people who fucking work in his production company and interact with him directly. I also can't believe that any sentient human being could possibly believe in such bullshit; therefore, I can only conclude that DarkTard's followers are not sentient

Not to mention the fact that "only true canon" is NOT what the Cesari/Sansweet quote contains. It says "absolute canon, real story" those phrases are not in any way synonomous.
5. "When he said that he was talking about LucasBooks/Lucas Licensing/ Whatever! Earlier in the quote he was talking about Lucasfilm policy!"

What the fuck? Where does he make that distinction?

Nothing the trektard makes up out of thin air requires logical justification. In their eyes its a self evident fact and anyone who can't see it is deluding themselves. They also love circular logic.
