Is there an example in canon of Tusken Raiders being reasoned with? Being shown the ability to be peaceful? Compassionate? Etc?

In KOTOR you are able to negotiate with a tribe after you infiltrate their camp with a disguise.

OR alternatively, you can just kill them. Even as a light-sider! Tuskens are the alien trash of the galaxy.
On the other hand, when you kill the Krayt dragon you can take the pearl to the tribe and - assuming you didn't kill them - get to hear their historical saga. I haven't done that yet. (but now that Kotor PC is working on my computer, I will - the pearl isn't a good lightsaber crystal when you can put better shit in there)

What about that Jedi who went savage on Tatooine, wotsisname? Sharad Hett? He appeared to have integrated himself nicely into a Tusken tribe.
