Knew how to interject humor perfectly in his novels.

like him or not, he wrote some good books for before-bed and busride reading.

Truce at bakura comes just after endor, I felt this was a somewhat unessesary turn but what the hell it was a good read.

Zahn. For TTT rather than TTD. I haven't read SQ yet, not sure if it's any good.

Perry, though he only wrote SOTE, but that is one of my favourite, if not most favourite, EU book. But like I said, it was all he wrote, so I have to go with Zahn...

Brian Daley. I'm getting through Star's End, and it's pretty good.

Troy Denning for Tattooine Ghost, a fun tale at the very least. SbS is also considered the height of the NJO, and from what I've read of it, it is pretty good.

The guy who wrote the Han Solo novels. No, not Crispin, since I haven't read that trilogy. The OTHER Han Solo novels.

That would be Brian Daley he goess in 6. in my list but after all it's only top 5.

I suppose I should put down Troy Denning after Brian Daley. Like Perry, Denning hasn't written much, but the one which I've read (Tattooine Ghost) while not superb it was fun.

1. Tim Zahn, without doubt or hesitation. The very, very best books of the series came from his hand.

2. Aaron Allston. I found his X-Wing books quite engaging.

3. Troy Denning. Based off of one book, Tatooine Ghost, which had a narrow focus yet captured the flavor of SW like nobody but Zahn.

4. Brian Daley. He made Han Solo cool again.

I've not read any of the NJO; perhaps I'll borrow them at some point.

At the bottom of my list are Kevin J. Anderson, Dave Wolverton (for that pile of crap known as "The Courtship of Princess Leia") and Kristine Kathryn Rusch, whose book, "The New Rebellion", as I have mentioned before, reads like a bishie fangirl writing bad fanfic. Dishonorable mention goes to Barbara Hambly for "Children of the Jedi" and Vonda N. McIntyre even though I've never read "Crystal Star".

Guuh? I found their books unintelligible. The lack of Chapters drove me right off the trilliogy and I don't think I even finished the first one.
