How do lightsbers perform against energy shields? I cant remember off the top off my head any instances of a lightsaber interacting with one. Would say a ships shields be able to deflect it?

Maul vs. Qui-Gon in Phantom menace. Maul stabs at the field separating him and Qui-Gon. It disrupts the blade, so yes shields can block lightsabers.

Besides, you can always check KotOR for clarification.

It might also depend how strong the forcefield is?

In Star Wars: Clone wars, Obi-Wan is fighting some robot of some type and it had some sort of energy shield of his forarms to deflect the lightsaber.

Good ass cartoon!

That would be Durge and he's not a robot but a bounty hunter with a grudge against Mandalorians and who enjoys gassing gungan civvies in his spare time.

But yeah he had those forearm shields, and of course in KOTOR personal energy shields can block lightsabers, and TPM.. there's a couple more I think.

And in 'Survivors Quest' it was shown a Drodikas personal shield can block a lightsabre strike, which is why no Jedi have ever tried to go close and slice them.

There is a novel in which Luke faces off an opponent with a personal shield. It appears to be is as one would logically expect, that it depends on the strenght of the shield. Several games (mechanics really, but anyway) and that novel (the name escapes me) seem to indicate that a personal shield would degrade with multiple hits and eventually fail against a lightsaber. Much like you could expect starship shields to fail after enough turbolaser fire.

Thank you about that information.
