Making Of ROTS [Spoilers]

I'm still reading this, but I thought y'all would enjoy some tidbits:
pg.24: Church says that when he first started working on Star Wars, its inconsistencies were often confusing; he couldn't understand how landspeeders stil hovered even after being turned off. "Antigravity paint," he was told.
pg.39: After his resuscitation, Vader is handed over to Governor Tarkin,
pg.41: Rough draft:
PALPATINE: Anakin, he was bragging earlier about how he arranged to have your mother killed by the Tuskin Raiders.
The tremendous effort needed to generate the sustained lightning has transformed PALPATINE's face into that of DARTH SIDIOUS.
pg.42: DARTH SIDIOUS: I have waited all these years for you to fulfill your destiny [...] I arranged for your conception. I used the power of the Force to will the midichlorians to start the cell divisions that created you.
ANAKIN: I don't believe you.
DARTH SIDIOUS: Ahhh, but you know its true. When you clear your mind, you will sense the truth. You could almost think of me as your father.
ANAKIN: That's impossible!
YODA tells OBI-WAN that in his solitude he has training for him with "one who has studied with the Ancient Order Of The Whills...Your old master, Qui-Gon Jinn"
pg.46: There is a new height chart for Wookiees, but Lucas finds that these Wookiees are too short, reminding everyone, "Chewbacca is seven foot four-but he's a *small* Wookiee."
pg.61: Revised Second Draft:
PADME stays alive long enough to see both children being born, and they're held up for her to see. But she can "offer up only a faint smile"- the smile Leia will recall in Episode VI.
pg.72: George remaks to Rob Coleman that the story of Star Wars is actually recounted by R2-D2 to the Keeper of the Whills, one hundred years after ROTJ.

So, this is G-canon, then? R2 the storyteller?

R2 the Chronicler, actually. Threepio is shown to be a storyteller in the Ewok village. But Artoo is a living witness.

That´s groovy. The only clear example of not only G-canon beyond ROTJ, but also any SW canon dating 100 years beyond ROTJ.

Whats this "Keeper of the Whills"?

Probably the person who keeps the Journal of the Whills, which the Skywalker family saga is written into.
Funny enough, this reminds me of fairy tales here in Scandinavia, where the storyteller is always a dazzled spectator who saw it all happen and then recounts it later on....

I have never in my life heard anything about a "Journal of the Whills" or a "Keeper of the Whills" so forgive my ignorance but when did they show up and what exactly are they in relation to the Star Wars universe?
Is the "Skywalker family saga" supposed to be the events of the Star wars movies? Sorry but im completely ignorant to this.

It was in the prologue of the ANH novelization, which had a short narrative of how the Emperor got into power. It was the only location in the book where Palpatine was mentioned by name, and this was several months before ANH was released in the theaters IIRC. The prologue was signed off with "From the Journal of Whills", or something like that. My novel's back at my hometown, can't refer to it now.

The Journal of the Whills stuff, along with the Son of the Sun, dates back to early drafts and story treatments for the first film.

Yes, it is written into the Journal.
The "Shaman of the Whills" is mentioned in ROTS (though I´m not sure if the quote stays in the film itself). Apparently, Qui-Gon Jinn found out this person had learned how to retain consciousness after death.

Oh, shoot. That might mess with my theory that the Whills are the Hyperspace Aliens after making their extra-dimensional exodus...

I believe they explained the Hyperspace Aliens in KOTOR I, no?

The Rakatan Empire and the Hyperspace Aliens aren't the same thing. The Rakatan were active only 30,000 years ago, while the Hyperspace Aliens disappeared about two million years ago (and possibly may have been active as long as three billion years ago).

Ah, I thought they were explaining away the HS aliens in KOTOR. Thanks for the clarification.

Out of curiosity where are the HS aliens mentioned anyway?

Technically nowhere. The term is sort of a fan invention used by some to refer to the unknown ancient civilisation that created Centerpoint Station, the Corellian System, and the Maw black hole supercluster (it's generally assumed that both were done by the same entities).

They're also mentioned in KOTOR on those little blurbs when you're saving, or loading a new map.

Ya, most people forget that about genetics...

Wow, This must be Palpy's biggest mistake. He
created the guy that would betray him? Wow, he's just so brilliant. At least we know who's Luke's grand-daddy. I wonder how he would feel when he finds out.
Oh, and I suppose if he can get things to divide, I'm sure he can flick a Y
chromosome to "Yes".
Oh, what kind of canon value does a rough draft like this have? It is obviosuly not film-G, but what is it?

Funny, because the AotC ICS says that repulsorlifts can provide unpowered antigravity...
The tremendous effort needed to generate the sustained lightning has transformed PALPATINE's face into that of DARTH SIDIOUS.
If that fact is up to date, it's certainly a better reason then the current one in which it was Mace's redirecting it back at him being entirely responcible.

HELL NO. This the Making of RotS book, not the Illustrated Screenplay.
