A question about the Force

I noticed in ANH that Obi-Wan, when talking to Luke about the Force affirms Luke's question that it at least partially controls his actions. Now that may be simply in the form of being able to deflect blaster bolts with your eyes closed, but I wonder it could have bigger implications. Could the Force actually control somebody or actually produce false visions, without being coerced, in an attempt to have the Jedi act a certain way. Could midi-chlorians do something like that as well?

Well in Medstar it's said that force does not lie per se but it may not show whole truth.

Sounds silly so I doubt it.

Does the force have an objective of some sort? If so, I don't see why it would do something like create a false vision to make a Jedi do whatever.

The only thing the Force has really "done on its own" is the creation of the Chosen One.

Spoiler:

According to the ROTS novelization, the Darkside of the Force chose the name Vader for Anakin.

Wait, no it didn't. The impression I got was that Palpatine divined the name.

The Force is everything. Why would it have an alterior motive against itself?

regardless of wether its movie canon, I find midi-chlorians the biggest hunk of crappy plot device ever. I'm glad its mentioned in one movie and then never again.

That's partially because most people have a misconception about them.
