A question about Yavin

Was the lone Y-wing survivor of Yavin ever named? He had to have been a hot hand to get that slow bucket out intact, but I've never seen anything about him.
Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

He never named as far as I know. He was almost crippled earlier and withdrew. If you look close one of the engines appeared to have taken some heavy damage.IG-88E wrote:Was the lone Y-wing survivor of Yavin ever named? Did it show him withdraw? Or is it just supposition from the damage? I haven't seen the movie in awhile and don't remember.Stormbringer wrote:He never named as far as I know. He's have to have withdrawn prior because all the Y-wings were destroyed in their trench runs. If he had been one of those he would have been killed.neoolong wrote:Did it show him withdraw? He's have to be. Seeing as how the two X-wing are Luke and Wedge repsectively.Jim Raynor wrote:The game Rebellion had an encyclopedia entry on a guy called Narra and said he was a veteran of the Battle of Yavin. Could he be the mystery Y-wing pilot?
Then where was he when the Falcon and the other survivors were flying back?Sardaukar wrote:ALso, from what I've read about Narra, he was flying in a different X-Wing squadron that arrived later and occupied TIE Fighters while Red squadron was doing trench runs.
He could have gone back in a different group. Nothing says they all needed to group up to head back. They probably did that because Wedge and the Y-Wing were both damaged.IG-88E wrote:Then where was he when the Falcon and the other survivors were flying back?Sardaukar wrote:ALso, from what I've read about Narra, he was flying in a different X-Wing squadron that arrived later and occupied TIE Fighters while Red squadron was doing trench runs.
This is true. This is very true, but I still want to know who that damn Y-wing pilot was.Darth Pounder wrote:the novel suggests that there were many squadrond deployed to fight the Death Star but only red and blue were to attack the exhaust vent. they'd have been crazy to do any thing else.
BINGO! Thanks, Sardaukar!Sardaukar wrote:Farlander, Keyan
He was one of the few survivors of the Battle of Yavin, piloting a Y-Wing during the fighting and fleeing the destruction of the first Death Star with Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles, and the Millennium Falcon.
