Noobish question

I've been wondering this for a long time...
A while back, I watched the Clone Wars miniseries. That one particular episode with Kashyyyk. You could walk on the ground. I thought that the ground on Kashyyyk was "untouchable" b/c the trees were too high. I also heard that ground and bodies of water are also involved in episode 3.

The EU stated that. Lucas is overrulling it apparently.

it possible that for most part Kashyyyk is indeed forrest where it hard to walk on ground but there are parts where there's no trees and perhaps water.

That is a good point...

Because a planet can´t have more than one environment.

Actually, the EU just says that the combination of thick undergrowth and dangerous wildlife made it virtual suicide for someone to walk around on the ground alone. Also, KotOR has people walking around on the ground on Kashyyk. Besides it'd be unlikely that all of Kashyyk is one giant forest, so having some diversity is a good thing IMO, and it seems from the ROTS: VD that where their walking on the ground is a coastal area away from the deep forests.

In Star Wars, no. (I kid I kid)
But yes I see your point, most likely they're fighting on some part of the planet that isn't tree infested. (Unless of course we get a pan shot of the planet which does not show any such forests.)

well what we see Kashyyyk in backround looks pretty much like a jungle and they made miniatures for the Kashyyyk trees (what ever they're called).

Chewie and his son remember hunting on Kashyyyk's ground-level, too. It's apparently a very dangerous coming-of-age thing in Wookiee society.

That is indeed the case. Specifically, it's around the coast of a lake.

The only thing gay about SW, besides Threepio, is Lucas's hair. It's positively flamboyant.

3PO isn't gay, he's British. A common confusion.

Wroshyr (I'm sure I fucked up the spelling some) trees are the ones IIRC.

Heterosexually challenged is the term I use.
Anyway, it doesn't really make sense to have a planet of nothing but jungle. There needs to be bodies of water somewhere, and underground reservoirs don't really cut it.

Yes, but the one ecosystem planet is a venerable tradition dating back to the OT. EU authors merely took somthing and over aplied it. We have All desert planets and all Ice planets because of wheretehy are located in their systems habitable, or less than habitable bands. We even have two moons in the OT which are single eco system, one jungle, one forest. So it merely continued in a lot of the EU and it's somthing we see in a lot of sci-fi. We've got the water planet, the planet o giant trees, the city planet, the rain forest planet... it's just taking canon conventions and taking them too far. Still, it was kind of cool to have the Wookies have their entire society built on collasal tree branches, impractical and unlikely, but still cool. Yet another little bit of the EU getting overruled that, while i accept it, I'll miss.
