Should Padmé get to use a lightsaber in Ep III?

Post by Tsyroc »

I don't mean going all Jedi (althought that would be cool) I'm thinking at least along the lines of some sort of utilitarian usage like when Han opened up the Taun Taun to save Luke.

I don't see why not. Only if it serves a purpose and not so she just gets to use a lightsaber however.

Not in combat. If they can come up with a good Hanish way for her to use one, maybe melting out a lock or something then that’s okay.

A lightsaber is to easy for Jar Jar, I want to see him suffer and bleed!

Yeah but with the caturizing effect of a lightsaber you can mess soemone up pretty bad causing lots of pain and not kill them for quite a while.

One wonders what Jango was intending to do with Windu's lightsaber when he dived for it in AOTC.

Use it against him or destroy it. Main objective is to keep the enemy's weapon out of thier hands.

Deny him his weapon. You have a much better chance against Jedi if you have a blaster and there unarmed. Though it was stupid of him to jump down there in the first place, must have been pissed over Windu's holding his saber to his throat.

I was just wondering if he'd got ideas in his head about grabbing the lightsaber and then wading into Mace hacking at him with his own lightsaber.

I doubt it. He just wanted to deny it to him and maybe have a trophy to take home. It wasn’t like the Jedi had a chance of winning....

And Mace uses a Force move that Jango stabs himself with the lightsaber, he was probably gonna grab it, fly away, creak then kill Mace.

There is no precident for such an action, so it would seem forced and out of place. She does well enough with a hand blaster, as would her daughter later on...

It would be interesting to see it, yes, and if she does, I wonder how they would have her use it.

Only if there was an actual point to it. If not it'd just be a case of "me too!" and really be rather stupid.

Tyhponis, I like the way you think. Now if we could only get George Lucas to include that, preferably while she strips naked and plays with her nipples.

I'm sure somebody off of HBO can do that independently...

I don't think it would add much to the film. I mean, if it's necessary for the plot, or logical, or whatever, then I wouldn't have a problem with it, but putting it in there just for the hell of it is going too far.

Necessarily.... Besides, I'm sure that Lucas would be too moralized to do anything like that himself.
