The only thing I can remember off the top of my head is Lando firing a slugthrower in a bar on Bastion and blowing a large hole in the ceiling. That was in VOTF I think.

Anyone care to try some calcs on this?
Tuskens use the Ceelus Swat VI Automatic Rifle which has a 25 round magazine and can fire three 5.147mm bullets before any recoil is delivered back.

I also got this:
The CG-15 is a SMG that fires caseless 8mm shots fast enough that one doesn't feel the recoil until a second shot has left the chamber

Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology wrote:Projectile weapons, commonly known as "slugthrowers," remain in common use, particularly on isolated worlds with strict weapons policies: who;e customs authorities are quite effective in stopping smugglers from bringing blasters from off-world, there's very little to top a gang from designing slugthrowers on computers and manufactyuring them on cheap tooling machines.
Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology wrote:While slugthwoers built on frontier worlds vary widely on in capabilities and quality, modern slugthowers built by reputable companies such as Czerka, Merr-Sonn, and Oriolanis are sophisticated weapons, ranging from pistols and hunting rifles to rapid-fire, high-caliber machine guns that can shoot thousands of rounds per minute.
Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology wrote:Ammunition is also varied, as slugs are made of mteal, ceramic, and hardened plastics. Specialty rounds can release toxic or stun gases, or acid, or carry explosive heads. During the Galactic Civil War, several Rebel SpecForce units carried explosive-tipped rounds that were quite affective at blowing through stormtrooper armor.
Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology wrote:The Oriolanis Striker pistol is a standard short-range slugthrower with an optimum range og thirty meters, a maximum range of sixth meters, and a slug cartridge that holds eight slugs. As with a hold-out blaster, only a vital hit is likely to kill, This weapon is normally easy to acquire, even on worlds with strict weapons laws.
Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology wrote:The Dresselian rifle is a far more crude weapon, normally hand-built with primitive tools. The long barrel gives the rifle a respectable maximum range of 300 meters and an optimum range 150 meters. The rifle's magazine holds six shells. The Dresselians (nicknamed "Prune Faces" by some) managed to drive Imperial occupation forces off their world despite their limited technology.

perhaps that last one is what Zam Wessel used to shoot the assasin droid Obiwan was hanging on to.

No she had some specialized mass driver rifle. The Ep2 Visual dictionary covers it.

Calculate what exactly? If you want to know the rate of fire you need for that effect, it's around 2000 RPM, though sustained would be much lower. There's nothing exceptional about what this gun does. The German G11 does the same thing, only with 4.6mm feeding from a 50 round magazine. Three round burst before you feel the recoil

All I can say is that slugthrowers are very primitive and are only used on backwater planets.

Apparently, most SW slugthrowers are cheap mass produced rifles. Compared to blasters, they ARE primitive.

True but if you use one right they're still deadly. Just about anything can be deadly if you use it right.

No. Zam Wessel's weapon was a mass driver weapon. The Dresselian rifle uses a chemical propellant. Further, the design of the two weapons is clearly significantly different.

Not necessarily. They may both have explosive bullets, but you don't know that the power is the same. Baking soda and vinegar can be considered explosive, but I would rather use a grenade than baking soda and vinegar against an enemy.

You do realize that fighter-sized explosives in their book means direction fusion devices who's yields exceed our most powerful nukes and are smaller then your head, yes?

What they mean by explosive tipped doesn't translate to tacking some modern explosives into the tip of 5.56 mm bullet and thinking it could take down stormies.

Which is dumb, since there is no mechanism in the entire universe by which a smaller-than-human-head warhead would deliver a yeild greater than the most powerful nukes. Not even M/AM annhialation (the most powerful type of reaction in the universe) would out-yeild a Tsara Bomba with a warhead smaller than a human head.

If this is a figure from the ICS, it only demonstrates that Saxton is a hack with a poor grasp of science.

Not the best idea to refute a primitive comment with a picture of a gun that was a failure due to considerable technical problems.

I dunno if you have something against Dr.Saxton, but I believe the figure is taken from the EU novels.

The mechanism could theoretically exist, but we have yet to uncover it, ne? That is a possibility, correct?

Hypermatter, hyperspace, blasters, tractor beams, gravity plating, superconductive ridge armor and many other things in Star Wars also don’t and or can't exist. In conclusion, Fuck off.

Actually, it keeps it there, it shows that you need explosive rounds of unknown strenght, possibly higher than anything earth has.
Now just consider the problem with giving out explosive rounds to every soldier...
