Before the Outbound Project comes out, and hopefully explains this, does anyone have an inkling of what Dorianna could've told Thrawn that would've made him wipe out the Jedi, and the old Admiral's face freeze up with fear when talking to Mara about it?

In the Thrawn Trilogy it doesn't seem like Thrawn has too much fear nor use for jedis.. and given that his desirable empire was strength and order, wouldn't it be keen to have some Jedi backing it up for the things to come? It seemed like he wasn't adverse to having force-users as he was ready to clone mentally-STABLE Joruus C'boaths.

Sorry; I've been meaning to get around to this. I've given it some thoughts and based on the hints Zahn set up in Survivor's Quest, I've got a few possible ideas.

We know that Outbound Flight attacked and stoped the Vagaari just before Thrawn blew them out of the skies. It's possible that the Jedi may have, as the Prequel era has shown, pursued their objective too strenuously and their agressiveness and ruthlessness was what convinced Thrawn of the need to take out the expedition (though in regards to the perceived treachery of the Jedi, it's possible Thrawn lured them away to attack the pursuing Vagaari, jammed their comms, and then took out OF).

Then we get to the original Thrawn trilogy. Perhaps it stems from whatever interaction he had with the original C'baoth; perhaps the OF C'Baoth attempted to outmanuver and 50 years later, a more seasoned Thrawn knew that he had taken C'Baoth once and could do it again. Or perhaps he didn't care, knowing that he would need the services of another Jedi, however insane, to take on and neutralize the Skywalker/Solo Jedi.

As for the stable clone idea, I think it could have been a possible weapon Thrawn was developing for the threat that Parck claimed was out in the Unknown Regions (though whether or not this was the Vong still hasn't been stated). Anyway, these are just my musings on the matter.
