A simple question, does Anakin Skywalker know/use the Jedi art of battle meditation (boosting the morale of troops by use of the Force would count even if he didn't how he did it.)?

also did Anakin Solo know/use it?

From what I've read in the EU era most prelevant to the question; no. Him just kicking un-Godly amount of ass is enough to inspire his troops.
also did Anakin Solo know/use it?
No idea. IIRC Jason or Jaina did, so ....

During the NJO, most of the Jedi were being used on board the bridges of Capital ships, using BM to help them beat the Vong in battle by boosting the confidence of the pleb.. err pilots and other people.

I would hazard a guess that Anakin knew it as Darth Vader since we see from circumstamcial evidence that the troops directly under Vader are far more successful than the ones on their own:

The storming of the Tantive IV - the very next time we see Imperial troops as coorcinated, fearless and accurate is in the Battle of Hoth, again under the direct supervision of Vader. Throughout the rest of ANH stormies don't fight as well, shoot poorly and generally become the cannon fodder we've grown to know and love.

Battle of Yavin - it is Vader's personal squadron that engages the rebel forces, outnumbered the TIEs still manage to pick off quite a few rebel fighters. (2 squadrons vs. 1 TIE Squadron)

ROTJ - the troops there on are on the alert expecting trouble, quickly seize Luke and immediately begin a search for the rebel troops in the forest when they on their own suspect that there are other troops hiding away and Vader doesn't have to. ("He says he's alone but I suspect there are others in the forest" "Good work commander."). Yet when the time comes to fight, suddenly these guys are spooked by bows and arrows and decide that they need to open their back door to bring out reinforcements - all 20 of them when you have an entire legion on that moon and it would be child's play to simply reroute troops from the front of the power generator and pursue the rebels. Teh battle is lost, there's no reason to open yourself up to counter attack to cut down a fleeing enemy when your orders are to protect the bunker at all costs.

Fleet Engagement over Endor - the death squadron - much smaller than the fleet over Endor relentlessly pursued the rebels across the galaxy, nearly destroyed their base and its assets and captured many rebel ships fleeing. Yet at Endor they fall to the smaller rebel fleet that has been further whittled down by Deathstar fire.

I think that Vader's troops' perfomance directly under his command shows a distinct possibility that he was using battle meditiation.

while it's pretty certain that Vader knew Battle meditation, it doesn't mean Anakin knew it as it could be something he learned after ROTS (we do know that Palpatine knew and used Battle Meditation).

Possibly something Palpy taught Vader, and then Luke during DE. Luke could simply have taught Jaina.

One question though, is it a Darkside power? It's not directly controling a persons mind but it comes damn close IMHO.

IIRC no (Bastilla uses it in KOTOR and (IIRC) it's light side power(s) in KOTOR2)

Also, Nomi Sunrider unconsciously uses it in Tales of the Jedi; Master Thon then teaches her how to consciously use it, which she and many other Jedi do to great effect in the campaign against Exar Kun.

Vader used it for sure, if he only used it unconsciously. Perhaps it's one of the things that corrupted him - as Anakin, he probably found it all too easy to motivate Republic soldiers and personell, and developed a skewed sense of his abilities to inspire and motivate people to follow the causes that Anakin believed in.

If I remember Vader's WEG stats correctly, he did know it.

It's possible that Anakin might have learned from Obi-wan. Kenobi was on the Jedi Council and the Masters on the Council have definitely been shown to use it. Opo Raciss being the most adept at its use.

As Vader I'd say he definitely would know it. Battle meditation has other uses in combat than simply motivating troops. Making your opponents turn on one another is always good fun. :D

Leia has an aptitude for it, so it probably runs in the family.

Of course, even though The Thrawn Trilogy and Dark Empire establish Leia as a jedi, later writers quickly forgot about it...

Regarding the storming of the Tantive IV - the novelisation refers to Vader demoralising the Rebel troops by his mere presence. It might just be his reputation, but it might also be the more engative side of Battle Meditation - which, in addition to inspiring and co-ordinating friendly troops, is used to confuse demoralise the enemy.

Well battle Meditation is decribed to have two effect in the KOTOR and KOTOR2

one: increases the morale and co-operation of your troops and allies
two:if not strong willed enough it dicreases the morale and (co-)operation of the enemy (it's you're guesing their every move and making correct counteraction).

Hmm.. this has gotten me thinking.. bear with me for a moment now.

Could this vast difference in performance be attributed not solely to battle meditation, but also to the possibility that clones perform at their best only when under the leadership of a Jedi? Well, or a fallen, Dark Jedi, or a generic Force user or somesuch.
Whether or not the specific Jedi needs to have actual fully realized Battle Meditation capabilities, perhaps every Force user exudes a mild version thereof, which clones require to perform their best.

Of course, SoD aside, it's probably because of the oft-mentioned "stormtrooper effect", or "mook madness", where massed unnamed bad guys, though they demonstrate a high aptitude in combat against non-heroes, are incapable of hitting heroic characters unless it serves a dramatic purpose plot-wise.
