Star Wars TV Show: G-Level?

Post by Kurgan »

Maybe it's too soon to say on this, but does anyone have any idea what the canon status of the new Star Wars TV show (set between Episode III and IV) will be? Supposedly it won't be following the main characters...

I mean the live action one. Some folks are saying it will be G-Level because Lucas will be creating it (but how is that different than any other piece of EU stuff that Lucas had a hand in?).

Now don't anyone jump in here and accuse me of being a purist wanker and condemning the show before it's even out, I'm only ASKING, if anyone knows.

For all I know it will be G-level, I just was wondering if we have any advance word on it and wear I could read up on this info (if it exists). ;)

If it's all just rumors and hearsay I'll just shut my mouth about it until then!

I'd imagine it would depend on how much Lucas had to do with the content of the show. Since I've heard that he plans to turn it over to others, I'd imagine it would be C-Level.

I could be wrong though...

G-level is a catagory in the Holocron; it is not a stamp of authoritative status. Authoritative value is derived via the "distance from the films" method always used and exemplified by the Cerasi and Sansweet quotes.

It'll be EU, plain and simple.
"You know what the problem with Hollywood is. They make shit. Unbelievable. Unremarkable. Shit." - Gabriel Shear, Swordfish

"This statement, in its utterly clueless hubristic stupidity, cannot be improved upon. I merely quote it in admiration of its perfection." - Garibaldi in reply to an incredibly stupid post.

Lucas seemed to imply he would direct the first episode(s) himself during Q&A on CIII. That would make at least the first story G-level canon, even if the setting is an EU source. Wait... :P

Isn't Lucas supposed to be writing the whole first season at one time? I saw that posted on TFN.

Amen.

I'm just wondering if the TV series will necessitate even more changes in any subsequent releases of the OT.
