  • Jedi Warriors (those who focus on martial training
  • Jedi Diplomats
  • Jedi Librarians (those who take care of the Archives
  • Temple Guardians (the Jedi Brute and Jedi Sniper classes from EP3 game).
  • Jedi Healers
  • Jedi Scientists

Well reject Younglings and Padawans are drafted often into the AgriCorps run by the Jedi Order.

I bet there are Jedi scientists, definitely. There are Jedi investigators (Obi-Wan was one according to the Revised Core Rulebook for the d20 RPG).

Jedi weapon masters are another.

And you don't find that lame like me? I mean come the fuck on! We now have two fucking planets with indigenous life that produce Force users easily on par with Jedi (Dathomir and Mace's homewrold), I mean what the fuck is wrong with the Jedi of the OR era that they have an amazing talent of picking younglings who aren't strong enough in the Force to be real threats if left untrained (Dark Rendevouz although the young Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon novels makes it seem that it has less to do with power/aptitude, and more to do with available teachers/masters and I can honestly say I don't know which one pisses me off more), when they've got two ready pools to draw from?

I mean really, is their early detection work of Force potential that bad?

The idea irks me.

A lot of them are rejected for being too angry or impulsive, old, etc. You get the idea. One of the founding members of the Prophets of the Dark Side was in this catagory.

Anyway, whats this nonsense about ready pools at Dantooine and Mace's homeworld?

:?: Where's that from :?: Dark Rendezvouz seems to have made it more into a power/ability issue than anything else.

Dathomir from The Courtship of Princes Leia, might have spelled the name wrong (I've managed to burn three fingers on my right hand, so typing is slow and thus I can't be bothered finding out the proper name), and Haruun Kal Mace's homeworld from Shatterpoint, the natives of this planet are descended from murooned Jedi centuries ago, and they all have some Force power of some kind (one was stronger than Mace, Anakin strong).

Look, I can get that some planets are too far outside the Republic (like Tattoine), but come on! Mace is from the latter, and Yoda's been to the former for crying out loud!

No betting required, they're in the ANH novelization.

On topic: There are Jedi armorers, like Qrrrl Toq, of Tales of the Jedi.

Off topic: Jedi are known to number at their worst 10,000 strong. A better question is what about the rest of the Sith order, they can't possibly do all they did, and have the Sith Speeder, Sith Infiltrator, droids without other workers that are "in on it.".. how would they keep their accounts? Are there Sith Accountants?

And in other news, the Trade Federation was rocked with scandal as accusations that profits were being diverted towards separatist groups surfaced.

Said CFO Darth Tegral, "Such claims are preposterous. We only donate to charitable organizations."

I'm not sure you're aware of this, but the Sith did count a fairly high-ranking Republic politician as one of their number.

Heh heh yeah. I understand that. But even a politician needs a staff to run his office. He can't do it by himself. For a Sith however it's even more difficult cause they're supposed to be a secret. Sidious can't, for example, get Cletus Hogstomper's Discount Plumbing to take care of his hideaway's toilet problems. Yes, he might wipe the plumber's memory or plant false ones. Consider that the Sith have more than one project all over the galaxy required many personnel or contractors. I suspect getting the money for these projects would be easy for Sidious, but maintaining them for Sith purposes and channeling them to their various projects all over the galaxy would be a moderately difficult task for one man (or two, what with the Rule of Two and all)...

For easy menial labor I guess they use lots and lots of droids.

Sith Chartered Accountancy Shanty:

# Its fun to charter an accountant
And rule the Star Wars galaxy
To find, explore, the funds off-shore
And skirt the shores of Yavin Three.
It can be manly in insurance,
We'll up your midichlorians semi-annually
Its all tax deductable,
(The Jedi are corruptable)
Hyperdriving on the wide accountant-sea......#

Seriously though, I imagine that the Sith have a huge number of padawan analogues waiting in the wings, serving their masters, whilst only two at a time can serve the dark side as true sith lords. It would explain who builds the infiltrators and it would also explain how Sidious was able to replace Maul so quickly. Dooku must have been on the path to the nasty side long before his predecessor was bisected.

Corran Horn's grandfather, Valin Halcyon, was a jedi investigator.

Yeah, there are probably minor Sith acolytes and servants/slaves which don't count as part of the Order. A lot of stuff is probably done by dummy organizations and companies without knowing who they're dealing with.

No, you're thinking of Nejaa Halcyon. Valin Halcyon was Hal Horn's real name.

There are also under-the-table deals with companies which don't mind doing discreet business as long as they get their money; Raith Sienar built Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator in a deal like that, IIRC.
