If you look at the lower left hand side of the pic there is a shuttle with folding wings. Not the Lambda style with them folding only at the wing root but also part way up the wing as well. It does not match any shuttle or landing craft I have heard of in the Imperial Navy.

Fan creation. Looks like some kind of assault shuttle or gunboat.

I lightened the image a little. The module on top may be able to separate from the main shuttle as a small secondary craft. It does have its own wings. The base ship does appear to be a modified Lambda class, The cockpit is either armored, or relocated to the secondary craft docked on top. I'm not sure yet why they'd do this. ^^; I can't tell if the dark object above the secondary craft is attached or is in the background.

Funny enough, the front of the 'carrier-shuttle' reminds me of the Defiant in DS9.

Speaking of similarities, the Droid Gunship in ROTS also reminds me of the Defiant.

Probaly not (and the Defiant is not bad designs anyway).

At most it's only a vague superficial resemblence.
