Jedi training and sexuality

I've been reading the Anakin/Luke threads and thinking on how both were raised. Anakin gets shafted IMO. A slave, then a monk? No wonder he has trouble relating to other people! Duh.
I got to thinking about the Jedi Academy. Presumably your bulk standard adept is recruited after weaning. And then raised in the Jedi way.
How does the order deal with you know, sex.
You have all these males and females. And some species in the Star Wars universe are sexually compatible. They must all hit puberty at some stage. What happens when Padawan Jack suddenly gets the hots for Padawan Jill? If they segregate, how do they handle the emergance of homosexuality?
It can't be that behavioural science has developed in the Republic to such a level that they can control it or else the moronic pairing of Anakin, 18 to be Padme's, 24 protector would never of happened. There was no
"Oh Senator Palpy, they'll be shagging as soon they find a room, you're such a kidder. Here's I*lkhsi, he'll be a more competant protector and unless the senator has a thing for cilia there won't be any of that messy attachments stuff you know we hate."*
So what do the Jedi do?
*dworkin fully realises that Palpy wanted Anakin to form an attachment to the Sexy Senator from Naboo of Anakin's fantasies. The point is he got away with it in a room full of Jedi bigwigs and no-one engaged a brain cell even once the Senator had left. Hell, if the next scene had shown Palpy handing Anakin the Star Wars equivalent of a box of Durex I would not of been suprised. It could of been an inspired product placement!

Good question. I want to know how a hottie like Aayla Secura can walk around dressed like that and NOT get hit on?

I think she's nasty, so that might be one explanation. Twi'leks are NOT sexy.

If i was a Jedi force assisted, no hands, wanking would be a must. If i'm caught i just claim to be developing my fine control of the Force

I think I've raised this point before... But has there EVER been an instance of Homosexuality in the StarWars Universe or how it's looked upon?

As far as I know there's none.

Off the top of my head I can think of KOTOR 2 which had a minor NPC smack her lips at your PC if you happened to play a woman.

I beg to differ...anyone who can move like *that*, and is within spitting distance of a well-formed human, is attractive in my opinion...
Not to mention, after X-Men 2, and Mystique...blue-skinned girls = cute ^_^;;

I just find it silly that Star Wars universe women still need implants
.
Are the only Jedi known to be involved in relationships breaking from the group in a sense? It's mentioned Obi had a relationship with a female Jedi, and I think one of the council members is also mentioned to be involved. Don't remember if they are secrets or just not serious enough to be a problem.

Ki-Adi-Mundi Had a wife and kid(s) and there's some indications that Kit Fisto had a relationship with Aayla Secura.

Of course on the ROTS DVD we'll see a behind-the-scenes documentary all about the planned Jedi Council gangbang that was cut out for timing reasons... oh come on we were all thinking it.
I wonder if Force Speed would be a good or bad thing.

They retconned Ki-Adi-Mundi's family as being the result of a special dispensation from the Jedi Council because of his species' breeding problems. He makes a comment of how he tried to avoid being attached to them, because of the Jedi philosophy. (Though that does blatantly contradict
Prelude to Rebellion, but we all know what a bunch of lying motherfucks the Old Republic Jedi were...)
As for Kit's budding relationship with Aayla, that was definitely not something the rest of the Jedi would have approved of.

The Dark Woman chastised her over it, but then the DW doesn't think Jedi should even have friends... she's the ultimate Jedi ascetic.

In retrospect, why would you
not want your most adept force uses to reproduce? After all, what better way is there to...er...keep their ranks...uh...solid?

Because Force Use is not a genetic trait?
But what does the academy do when Padawan Jack hits puberty?
Do they go 'tut, tut, that leads to the darkside' but basically ignore it?
Do they expell any caught in the act? This could explain why there are so few. And why everyone and their dog can be a force user in the EU after that purge they all somehow survived.
Do they actually encourage padawans having sex? Since the academy has a total monopoly on their education they could arrange things so they don't realise you're supposed to become attached to the other person.
At puberty do padawans start the entire apprentice/master thing. How do they ensure that won't develop further?

I would suggest Force castration, but a) that's reserved for Straha, and b) it leads to the dark side.

That would've been so much cooler than Force Crush. I knew I should've played a Sith Assassin.

I don't know if I agree. In ROTJ, Luke does mention to Leia, "The force is strong in my family, I have it, and my sister has it."
I would surmise that it is entirely possible that it could be genetic.
And oh yes, I we did all see what happens when good force users become all but extinct in the galaxy...the bad ones take over. Hey, all the better to justify the phrase: "be fruitful, multiply!"

It's true that the Force was passed down from Anakin to his children, but this is the exception, rather than the rule, IIRC. Most indications are that Force Adeptness is a more random thing, or else the Jedi would have encouraged relationships.

It's possible that connection to the Force has a genetic part in it, but there's also more to it then just that.

Maybe they're allowed to have all the casual sex they want. It's not sex that's forbidden, it's attachment.
"Go forth and fuck her brains out, my young Padawan. Just remember, no cuddling and pillow talk afterwards."
