While I'm at it, would anyone be interested in an effort at quantifying the complement of the Republic Cruisers in the Clone Wars?
Why?
The ROTS ICS does it already.........
A Venator is basically just a glorified Carrier. I don't know why they call them destroyers.....

I meant the ones in Vol 1 of the Clone Wars cartoon. They're not Venators, they seem to be like big Acclamators.
EDIT: Just from one camera shot of the interior, they have 22 LAAT/i's in racks.

I don't know if that jives with the insane amount of LAAT/i's that came pouring out of their hangers during the assault on Munnilist......
I'll have to re-watch Clone Wars.
Alas, I have no money for the DVD.....

Well, that's only one camera shot, of only one bay.
Anyway. Taking the first screenshot now, of insane numbers of V-19s launching.

They also have a large door on the front, through which Kit Fisto jumps in his assault on Mon Calamari. The Acclamator lacks this, and the ICS cutaway of the Accy shows no place where multiple teirs of LAATs could be stored in the manner shown.

SPOILER
Yes, that´s Imperial Venators at the end, there, so they were kept as part of the Imperial fleet in it´s first few months/years at least..
EDIT: I see. Well, they must be upgrades/variants, then.

IIRC they were also putting out WAY too much heavy firepower during the Muunillist space battle to be plain Acclimators.
I thought the general consensus was that they were some type of destroyer variant based on the Acclimator hull

100 V-19s so far...
I think they're star cruisers, that happen to look like the Acclamator...

100 Torrent's, Insane gunship numbers........
Mabye they had dedicated carriers only loaded with fighters?

In one of the canon Star Wars Tales issues, there´s a picture of several
Acclamator look-a-likes and a big capital ship orbiting an important planet sometime before or straight after the Battle of Naboo, so there must be many different ships out there based on the hull, just like all those
Imperator look-a-likes Saxton has noted.

The ship these 130 (and counting) Torrents came from launced Anakin's modified Delta 7. Obi-Wan was on the same ship when they were in hyperspace, and there seems to be no chance for him to have moved to another one to get onto an LAAT. The ship Anakin launched from carried at least 22 LAATs as well, as he was seen repaing the D-7 below those LAATs.

Mabye it only had the 22 LAATs?
It could be the ship was a carrier, but also carried the ARC squads for Obi-Wan's army.
They wouldn't need that many gunships to transport them........

Could
these be related to the ship in question?

It seems to be implied that huge numbers of LAATs come from the same ship, given that we don't see Obi Wan and the ARCs join up with LAATs from other ships.

Well then I don't know how the hell they got so many gunships in with 130 fighters.......
Do you have a specific count on the gunships that came from that ship?

Yes, those are the ones.

156 Torrents marked in 16 colours There are more, but they're not readily discernable at that distance.

Just looking at all those fighters and trying to figue out the bay space required for them,
I don't think that ship is 750 meters long..........

Where the hell is that bay on the cruiser? Ventral docking vestibule?

by Darksider
IIRC the fighters and gunships were coming out of the bottem of the ships.
Still, I think that's too small to be the main hanger bay

by NecronLord
Actually, that cruiser has very few LAATs after all. The bay the torrents are launching from is presumably on the underside, however, there is a bay of similar shape on the acclamator, the logistics hangar hatch, on the ventral surface. I can't imagine them launching Torrents via that though.
Still, 156 V-19s and 22 LAATs is damn respectable if you ask me. Better than the Imperator's complement.

Darksider wrote:I wonder if they were all carrying ARCs....
How many squads did Obi-Wan send to take out that giant separatist cannon?
Just the one. The other LAATs could have been carrying the Open Circle Army's command staff.

Those can't be LAATs, they're in a vacuum. They must be some sort of variant, a HAAT or something. . .
