Now that Revenge of the Sith has debuted in theaters across the country, the inevitible question that fans have been asking for year raises its ugly head once more, a question that thanks to the final piece of the puzzle being fit into place, is now possible to ask: Which is your favorite Star Wars film?

Not sure if I qualify as "Undecided," so I didn't vote, but I'll need to wait for the RotS DVD to tell where it is.

Definitely ESB. I mean, I had a great time at RoTS for certain, but there's just no way this is a better film than ESB.

Almost everyone I've talked to, has said this is the best of the six. I'm still RotJ all the way. This is probably right above ESB now. Just because of how everything falls apart. Definitely up there though.

Oh come on. Sure, ANH was a good movie - but REVENGE OF THE SITH was like WOAH! Holy fucking shit!
REVENGE OF THE SITH > ANH, IMO.

ESB was very good, I'll give you that. Heck, it also rocked lesbian bitch tits. But REVENGE OF THE SITH raped lesbian bitch tits.
But yeah, they're both so good that I think they're equal.

I'm still somewhat torn between RotS and ESB, but damn, I'm just so blown away by RotS that I had to vote it #1. Perhaps I'll modify my opinion a bit once the DVD gets viewed a few times, not yet.
I don't mean to offend anyone, but how can anyone like that ham-handed RotJ best? I can see a certain amount of nostalgia if it was your first SW film, but viewed on its own merits it's just sooo weak. Or perhaps I'm wrong, and am missing something.

I haven't seen RotS yet, but I've been watching through the Original Trilogy this week, and saw ESB today.
No matter how good Revenge of the Sith turns out to be, there is no way it could beat out The Empire Strikes Back as being my favourite, as it has been ever since I first saw it more than fifteen years ago.

"And besides, who cares if a monster destroys Australia?"
I was pretty sure about my answer up until I started to actually think about it. I've loathed the PT so much in the past that I wasn't really thinking much on it.
Nothing will ever top ESB, I think. That movie injected enough action in the midst of less active scenes to keep the pace going, and the relationship between Han and Leia really shines in this one far better than PT relationships.
After that, it gets a little fuzzy. ANH is higher up than ROTJ. First Jabba and then those dreaded Ewoks. Though the space battle saved this one. ROTS suffers from bad romance (though thankfully not as bad as previously), but I think some of the "realness" is also lost, with most battles taking place in CGI land, rather than some real place. (ROTJ being a real forest, whereas the Wookie homeworld being all CG.) Lucas' overreliance on CG in the prequals always was a sore spot with me.
Having said that, I looked for emotional impact as well, and I think that ROTS has some of the best emotional impacts in the entire series. (There were none in previous prequals worthy to be called impacts) General Order 66, the younglings, and Vader's firey meeting with the lava all helped to bring this one higher than some of the OTs, and the previlance of more action based scenes didn't hurt. I think it's safe to say that ROTS vastly helped ROTJ's ending scenes. Until this point, you didn't see him as much in a tragic character sense.
I think I still need more time to digest my two showings in 12 hours, but I'd say....
