Anyone play this yet? I like all of the new features in it except for Order 66. Playing as the Separatists is a joke. All you have to do to win is hold out until Sidious is moved to the 11th place on the Order 66 track. I knew this immediately from the start, and this is precisely how I won. Sure, I think I could have beaten my friend anyway, but after I called Order 66, every single Republic planet fell to me and I won immediately. How could you not roll anything but a 1 on an eight-sided die? I think they should have made it less lopsided.

Why should the separatists win on order 66? is there no "My new apperentice will "take care" of you" order as well?

When Order 66 is given, all of the tokens (which include all of the Separatist leaders) are taken off the gameboard and instead Palpatine is put on the board and what is left of the Republic forces is supposed to capture him. In the manual, the tokens being taken off the board is explained as the leaders being, "taken care of."

And, of course, if you make it to space 11 on the Sidious track, then 7/8 of the Republic territory becomes yours. Personally, I prefer classic Risk– it allows for massive, four hour-long games of domination and scheming, rather than one person just holding out for half an hour then getting a deus ex machina.

Yeah, it's so badly in favor of the Separatists that I'd like to hear of anyone being able to win as the Republic. Next time I'll play as Republic forces and see if I can pull off a victory.

The LotR version is pretty awesome, considering the Fellowship (the game time limiter) takes a very long time to make its way to Mordor, and its about as likely to lose for the "Good" force as it is to win for them. Or you can just not implement that part of the game at all.
