Is it just me, or did every man and his Jedi Master start referring to Palpatine as 'the Emperor' almost immediately? I don't even think anyone used his name after this point. I'm not sure many of them (like Obi-wan) had time to catch the news - and even if he did, it would have been good to see reactions from more than Ms Wooden.

I think it comes down to the fact that the Jedi didnt want to feel like they were chumps all along, calling Palpatine Chancellor after he reveals himself is a great defeat in their minds, "We were duped, chumpified and were lead by a sith lord".

the Jedi are hte guardians of peace and justice in the REPUBLIC calling him Empeoror says that its a diffrent government, that they tried to stop this and werent led by the Empeoror

Well, the one time Obi-Wan certainly didn't have time to catch the news: he was with Yoda in the temple, eh, working just while Palpatine was giving his speech. But Obi-Wan did refer to him as "Emperor".
But after that, in the scene with Padme, where he asks her about Anakins whereabouts, he calls him "Chancellor" again...

That was one of my few nitpicks, it would have made more sense for OB1 to address him as "Palpatine", but by that point I was so jacked up I didn't care.

Well in private it's possible that the Jedi call Palpatine Emperor because they know there will be a Sith Empire (in practice, if not in name also).
