Yoda's lightsaber and fighting into the Jedi Temple (Spoil)

I don't know if this was touched upon, but when Yoda and Kenobi were fighting into the Temple, Yoda threw his saber into a clonetrooper and it stuck through him. Yoda then had to pull the saber out of the dying trooper to retrieve it. Did anyone else notice?

I definitely noticed it. Jedi use the Force when they fight in ways we can't always see, perhaps he was concentrating his use of the force elsewhere and couldn't break it to telekinetically retrieve the lightsabre.

Yes, that was unbearably cool.
My best guess is that the lightsaber must have kinetic force to cut/burn. If it sticks in you it would just hang there, unless someone moved it and then it would slice straight through in a second. In Clone Wars, Obi Wan had teh same problem with an alien, who had a lightsaber stuck through him and it just hung there.
Theoretically, it makes some sense, cause if it just cut through everything on contact it'd drill through the ground if you dropped it. This way, you must apply pressure or force to cut, and when you apply force it cuts like instantly.

How could you NOT notice that? It was awesome. I wondered briefly how the lightsaber stayed activated, but my guess is that Yoda used the Force to keep the pressure up on the handle, so that the sensor inside didn't go off and shut the saber down.

That's not the problem, the problem is that the saber portion is supposedly virtually massless compared to the heavier hilt. The saber should have sliced through his head and fallen to the ground, no?

Someone in another thread pointed out that the Clone actually grabs the hilt of the saber, but too late.

This phenomenon is explained in one of the other threads. Pay close attention, you'll see the soldier grab the hilt of the lightsaber before it can pass completely through him. Unfortunately for him, he has already been stabbed by it.

Oh, right.
