Ok, two scenarios.

1) Vader on Bespin, waits patiently for Luke to enter the Carbon Freeze Chamber but through a trick of magic/writer fiat Obi Wan is plucked off Mustafar as he is about to start his duel with Vader. He appears in the Carbon Freezing chamber. What happens? Does the older, slower Vader get his ass handed to him by the younger sprier Obi Wan?

2) Anakin on Mustafar is shocked to see Obi Wan plucked away before his eyes and is replaced by Luke Skywalker as of ROTJ. Luke does not know this is his father but he does know that this is a Sith Lord that needs killing so we can avoid the whole "I will not fight you." from ROTJ. Does Anakin curb stomp the half trained Luke or does Luke open a can of whoop ass on Anakin? Mind you there is no caveat that ROTJ can't go ballistic on Vader the younger as he did Vader the Older.

What results?

Well that's a given. Contrive a way that they can't know who they are. Say Luke and Anakin are rendered mute or some such and just get to work. Once you add in the "I will not fight you" bit it sort of defeats the purpose of the scenario. RAR.

Young obi wan defeats Vadar

young Anakin would kill Luke

Luke might, I say again, might pull it off, but only if he somehow gets into a dark side rage. To really garuntee a win here, you'd need the EU's Master Jedi Skywalker. As it is, I see little hope for Luke.

Obi-Wan wins. Vader suited is not equal to Vader unsuited, though somewhat more skilled. Addtionally, Vader should be startled to see a man he's killed appear. The morale effects of a being 'more powerful than you can imagine' showing up to fight you are not benefitial.

Anakin would take Luke easily, at there respective points in time Anakin is far stronger and far more experienced.


Vader loses to to Obi-Wan due to the shock of seeing Obi-Wan a live young. In additions Vader is far less post-lava dip than before.

Eh. Lord Vader is much more experienced in TESB than pre-dip; he hasn't any Sith training in ROTS; in TESB he has over 20 years of it. Lord Vader handed experienced Jedi Masters like The Dark Woman their ass after suiting.

What's up with this younger Obi-Wan is superior to old one?
The same goes for Vader. Not to mention that Vader from ESB actually looks like a better swordfighter than Mace from ROTS.

Luke crushes Anakin while Vader crushes young Obi-Wan.

It would be interesting to see young Obi Won facing up against Vader is one of his full out throwing everything in the room at you attacks...
