What if the council had ordered Mace to go to Utapau to deal with General Greivous, and Obi-wan had stayed on Coruscant?

Assume Palpatine still makes his sales pitch to Anakin, but Obi-Wan is the one he tells, rather than Mace.

Anakin would have gone to Obi who would have calmed him down (Fear is the little monster that gnaws within) & taken him with them to face Sidious, it's Very doubtful that anny would have sliced off obi's hand and considering his own power they might have forced sidious to flee and recoup.

Either that or sidious would kill Obi wan and turn Anakin to the dark side like he told Tyrannus (in the ROTS novelization).
However it was a cornerstone of Palpatines plan to make sure one of the few people that Anakin trusted was unavailable during his greatest test,

so Palpy would have probably waited till an opportunity arose when Obi-Wan is sent off planet and ends up having a Hyper drive "malfunction" .

"Anakin, I was sorry to hear of your friend's freak aircar accident. The Interplanetary Freeway can be a dangerous place."

Remember, the OP states that Obi-Wan is the one Anakin tells about the chancellor's sith training instead of Mace Windu.

Unless Palpatine get's rid of Obi-Wan or manages to kill or critically injure Padme without the blame coming near the sith
(shafting it at the Republic,the council, a distracted Obi-Wan ) then Anakin wont Attack Obi-Wan like he did Windu unless he's completely turned.

I'd say that if Anakin hasn't completely turned yet, he wouldn't attack Obi-Wan. Heck, if Mace was switched with Kenobi, he'd probably have taken Anakin along with him, and either a) Palpatine would have gone quietly in order to fight another day, or b) Palpy would have Sith'd out and gotten his ass lawnmowered. Kit Fisto (and possibly the other two Jedi that were with them) would have had a good chance of survival, though Kit more than the other two - he was close to Mace's level of dueling skill.

Actually, some cut scenes where going to hint at Anakin suspecting that ObiWan was making romantic advances with Padme (That's why Anakin was so upset in the "ObiWan was here" scene). Not hard to imagine Palpatine making Anakin belive he's been cheated on.

If not force power or character shield.
Palpy might have tried taking them all on in an attempt to turn Anakin through anger, also it's possible that his precog might be faulty, after all Mace's was (
