I know this is stupid but...

I have this friend who loves Star Wars and REALLY loves Boba Fett. Hes like a Robert Walper with Boba Fett instead of the Borg. Ill just start from the top...
You know the scene in ESB (or is it ROT), when Boba Fett tells Darth Vader `hes no good to me dead?` The scene where Vader and Fett are talking about Han Solo frozen in carbonite? This guy thinks that if Fett got mad at Vader, like because of the Han Solo situation, he could have quick drawn his blaster and given Darth Vader a good fight. He doesnt go as far as to say that Fett could kill Vader, but that he could really cause some major damage to him. He uses the scenes from the new movies where Jedi are shot and killed to `demonstrate` this.
Yeah, hes an idiot about shit like this. Any comments?

Vader absorbs blaster fire from Han's overcharged blaster easily, and has split second Jedi Reflexes. End of story. Fett can't touch him without a significant suprise, and when you can detect emotions and intents...

Presumably, using his precognition, he would've foreseen Fett's treachery and cut him in half/broke his neck. If not, for whatever reason, and Fett tried to fly away in his handy-dandy jetpack, Vader could have used the Force to "suggest" that he crash head first into a pole.
Remember, when Obi-Wan fought Jango, his intent was not to kill him, hence he did not use these tactics. When Luke fought Boba, he was somewhat distracted by the assload of other lasers and shit flying at him, nevermind his semi-newbness to being a Jedi.

Vader deflects Fett's blaster with his hand, then crushes Fett's head like an over-ripe melon.
Fett's cool and all, but he wouldn't last a minute. And he'd know this. Vader could tell Boba Fett, "All you're getting is Solo's right nut," and Fett would be able to do jack shit about it.

It is possible that Boba could kill a Jedi from a distance (like his father) but in this case, there are two problems:
a) They are not at a distance. Vader wouldnt even have to look at Boba to TK or saber him at that range.
b) Vader is the chosen one. No Coleman Trebor was he. Boba is no match under any circumstance.

Fett only has one salvo of shots to get off before Vader does his trachea or one of the escorting Stormtroopers riddles him. Somehow I don't think Vader trusts Fett enough to lower his early warning Force senses against him or have instructions to the Stormies to blast Fett if he so much as whispers sweet nothings to his blaster.
Actually. and I'm digressing a tad here, the one thing that I've been curious about the Fett-Vader scenes is why when Fett took aim at the berserker Chewie in the freezing scene, Vader stopped him (pushed his weapon down if I remember correctly).

Jedi have been killed by guns before, but only in a large-scale firefight where there's a shitload of stuff to concentrate on. When a Jedi decides to focus his attention on a single enemy, well ... look at what happened to Jango when Mace decided to take him out. And Vader would have no distractions, unlike Mace.

3P0 was strapped to Chewie's back. I think Vader has a special place in his heart for his old protocol droid

It may have just been he didn't want any of the group killed, because he wanted to do a real interrogation of them later. Or use them as bait for a trap, or some other nefarious scheme.
Especially with 3PO, his knowledge of the Rebel's whereabouts would be relatively easy to access...

I hate to bring it up, but one of the old comics or possibly one of those really bad young adult or kids books has Boba fighting Vader to a draw over some valuable artifact, and its been mentioned in other sources. Maybe someone who has actually read this source could fill in the details?

You may be thinking of something else but I have a Star Wars Tales that has Fett and Vader fighting over who gets to capture Han, not long after Han left the Empire behind. Obviously this is non-canon though, what with Tales being Infinities level IIRC.

No, there's a much older comic by IIRC Cam Kennedy called Boba Fett: Enemy of the Empire that has Boba and Vader faceoff over an artifact. I forgot who wins, though I'm pretty sure that Vader owns.

That's the one, though I haven't read it, though I would have liked to. They were fighting over a head. That could tell the future. It was actually really quite good, and the style appealled to me. They were fighting in a broken down monastery (of the Order of Pessimists!) with a pit of fire in the centre.

That backpack Rocket Boba carries around might be hard for vader to deflect.

But wouldn't that also mean he'd have to turn his back on Vader? Doesn't sound like a good plan to point-blank jetpack someone in the face if that someone happens to be a lightsaber-wielding Sith Lord...

He meant for Fett to launch the jetpack-mounted rocket warhead at Vader not cook him with the jetpack exhaust.

The little we see of Fett's combat skill in ROTJ isn't particularly impressive.
Vader would have no trouble beating him.

He probably means EU Fett where he's on of the 7 best unarmed combatants in the galaxy (this is after the jedi "return") and is one of the most feared men in the galaxy, as well as the most dangerous non force user.
(check out the unifying force for an example of Fett ass-kicking a pile of Vong in close combat)
the power of wanking is strong with this one!

Wait, so a 62 year old non-force powered human is kicking Vong ass en masse? What is this Fett wanking crap??
Then again, it taking an old geezer bit character from the OT to take these wanktastic idiot aliens down a notch seems like poetic justice in a way!

He could simply go take it to Jabba's little brother Bubba the Hutt and get the reward from him. Sometimes Bubba feels like a nut you know.

Have you ever head of Cohen the 98 year old Barbarian hero?
You dont get that old without being
very good at what you do.
He also "ressurects" the Mandalorian's who in their glory day were an even match for Jedi in melle combat.
