Is it just me or are the Republic Commandoes better than the ARC troopers, they seem to do better against enemies than the ARCs:
Republic commandoes take down Magnaguards and waves upon waves of enemies ref: game
ARC troopers only take down a few droids and even need help from their Jedi to take down Droidikas, although they do take down an AAT. ref Clone Wars cartoons

That's true, in the book, RCs never approach the feats they can achieve in the game, although the Magnadroids arent necissarily discounted. The ones that GG had him were the elite of the elite, so most of the ones you encounter in the game would be weaker anyways.

One other thing I noticed is how the ARC troopers really like using Rocket launchers.
edit: I meant to ask why

Because, I would guess, more often than not, its they're job to blow stuff up. Valuable stuff.

Yeah but why would you use a rocket to take out a sniper?

Without knowing the details of a specific instance, I can't say for sure, but generally if you can get a projectile of tank-busting explosive into the general area of a sniper, it would be pretty much as effective as a blaster bolt in the head. Brings to mind a part of the last battle in
Saving Private Ryan.

A SW explosive scale rocket into a building will not only take out the sniper its targetted at, but also any other forces in that building and potentially that city block... That is why you use it. Because, it is certainly safe to assume that if there is one target that you can see, there are more that you cannot.

If you're referring to their initial deployment in the Clone Wars cartoon then you are either mistaken or purposely stripping the scene of context. The troopers were caught in a cross-fire from multiple droids, and quickly eliminated them even though the droids had good cover by using rockets to eliminate groups of them at once so they could quickly move on with their mission and get to their objective. It was MUCH faster and safer than having to fight their way out of the ambush with blasters, clear the immediate area, and potentially be forced into a running firefight all the way to their objective.

True.
It should be, "Why would you use a rocket to take out a squad of enemy infantry firing from an elevated position during a FIBUA operation?", in which case the answer is obvious.

In Kamino (only event I recall of ARC(s) fighting droidekas) he (A-17) was limited to his rifle and gauntlet rockets and against two droidekas.

I always felt that ARC are more like SAS while the RC looks more like S.O.E during ww2
