Jedi who have violated that little rule:

Andur Sunrider
Nomi Sunrider
Ulic Qel-Droma
Jolee Bindo
Revan
Bastilla Shan
Jedi Exile
Obi-Wan
Anakin Skywalker
Kit Fisto (implied)
Aayla Secura (see above)
Siri Tachi
Luke
Mara Jade
Leia
Kyle Katarn
Corran Horn
Jaina Solo
Anakin Solo

There's probably more. Out of all of these, I believe Anakin Skywalker was the only one to turn to the darkside because of love. Even then, he only did it to save his love.

Strav: I think the female Jedi Obi-Wan had a relationship with (how minimal it may have been) was Siri Tachi.

Bit of a nitpick there, Aya-- Nomi Sunrider became a Jedi after Andur Sunrider's death. To be sure, she got involved with Ulic Qel-Droma afterwards. And Corran Horn was in a relationship with Mirax way before he became a Jedi...

Corran still maintained the relationship even after becoming a Jedi. That was the reason he even became one. :P

Any post ROTS Jedi are irrelevant anyway as we do not know if NJO did have this rule.

IIRC, Luke told the little Avian Jedi from the OR that Family makes Jedi "More rounded"

I'm sure Revan got it on with Bastilla but I dont know if any evidence is around to support that. He at least probably did the nasty with her with the Dark Side ending in KOTOR.

As a side note, the light side ending of KOTOR is the canon version, but that aside, I would guess they got it on anyways.

Probably, but there's really no proof. It's possible that he split to outside the galaxy or wherever the hell Kreia said he went before he got around to that.

As an aside, I personally think it's more likely he did the nasty with her with the Light Side ending. There wasn't a whole lot of romance in the Dark Side ending, and it was clear that she was his apprentice. And let's face it, the Sith master/Sith apprentice relationships aren't exactly about love...

Nitpick: Leia wasn't a Jedi, Luke was operating under new rules, as was Mara.

Nitpick: The thread. Jedi are like WASPs. They don't do the wild thing. :D (In absence of an emoticon with its nose in the air)

Check out DW's polls page. Apparently even Palpy has a groupie. Force users like Jedi are above such superficial concerns as appearances.

He said they did the nasty, he didn't say anything about love. Personally I think it's a guarantee they did. It's likely that Dark Side passions would involve wild sex, possible with heavy overtones influenced by the master/apprentice aspect of the relationship.

As for the Light Side ending, it's a possibility.

Evidence shows that Yoda had a few trysts of his own

Jason Von Evil's list excludes Ki Adi Mundi, who IIRC was allowed to have a family due to the poor birthrate of Cereans yes?

I'm anti-Cerean. :P

Leia recieved force and lightsaber training. She's used both. She's a Jedi in my book. Besides, Han finds it kinky to screw a Jedi. :P

Quick question, sorry if this was answered someplace else, but was Obi-Wan's "secret relationship" introduced before or after AOTC came out?

(I checked and it wasn't answered in the previously mentioned thread)

I know it was mentioned in the ROTS VD, but I wonder if this was a "loose end" or an actual plot point (ie: look at Obi-Wan the hypocrite frowning on Anakin's secret love OR he's afraid to tell for fear of exposing HIS dirty little secret... etc).

As to the Jedi not having sex thing (mentioned in the previous thread) that all depends on your feelings about the Jedi philosophy itself. Is it full of contradictions? Is it healthy? Maybe it might seem "wrong" to you, a non-Jedi, but with those great powers and things flowing through a person, perhaps this is the lifestyle that has "worked" for them for the thousand generations? I digress, but since it was brought up...

If all else fails there's always castration with a saber! Image

Anyway, so is Obi-Wan's "fling" a retcon or deliberately created post-AOTC?

I think it's fairly obvious that they did in the light side ending as well. There is the previously mentioned romantic angle and Revan didn't head off to the unknown regions until a year after KOTOR 1.

Evidence points to that also (ref: Mace Windu)

Then theres Nejaa Halcyon (Corran the Schmuck's dad) if he hasn't already been listed. Tyria Sarkin also, although she was never all that powerful.

I may have misinterpreted Episode II, but I was under the impression that the Jedi could have affairs, just not be married or involved in any sort of binding tryst. If I am correct on that, the motivation behind such an eyebrow-raising principle must be "interesting", to say the least. I can't personally imagine the Jedi being bound to celibacy.

Of course, the fundamental flaw behind such a policy is that Jedi develop binding relationships anyway, albeit generally non-sexual ones, with other Jedi. In many cases the relationship between a padawan and his master could be quite intense, as witness the immolation scene in Episode III ("I loved you, you were a brother to me"). While clearly these relationships are quite different than a marriage or intense romantic involvement, for the Jedi not to consider them as binding is absurd. There have been situations in the films where a Jedi has arguably either engaged in or strongly contemplated engaging in irrational conduct to preserve his master or apprentice, just as there were clearly situations where Anakin was prepared to, or did, something irrational to assist Padme. This ludicrous prohibition on marriage is just one of several faults I find with the Jedi order and its lopsided sense of morality.

From what I understand the Jedi from the PT are supposed to live lives without possesions or major attachments of any kind. They don't own anything, and becoming attached to someone to the point where no sacrifice is to small for that person is frowned upon.
However it would be unreasonable to assume that Jedi don't get to bang a consenting member of the opposite sex, or compatible species.

Neeja Halycon was a Corelian Jedi, and they were known to not follow the rules 100% of the time, in fact they had their own traditions, like the JedCred's that were crafted when the Jedi reached the rank of Knight.

Master. No-one cares when you're made a knight.

My mistake, been a while since I read any books concerning Neeja.

Ki had seven or eight wives actually, and quite a few daughters. There's a poor male birth rate on Cerea, one boy for every seven or eight girls.

devils advocate: And yet if Anakin had adhered to that rule as he should have would he have become Darth Vader?

The Jedi have many enemies, an in most circumstances it would not be wise to have a family when one is constantly exposed to dangerous opponents.
