Prequel Characters in the OT Special Edition
If Lucas allowed cameos of prequel characters in the second special edition of the original trilogy, who should be featured?
I’m still curious as to why Captain Pananka became a moff.
Jar-Jar’s gleeful shout at the end of ROTJ is a gag, by all accounts. There’s no way he fled to Endor, unless you were to retcon all of the Ewok cartoons and films.
I kind of wonder what happened to the few named clones in ROTS. Did them became commanders?
I still think it would be cool if one of the queen’s doubles (Sabé or Cordé) claimed to be the true queen and joined the Rebellion. Of course, then I guess Padmé should have died secretly to make it possible

When did this happen? I haven't heard of Moff Pananka before. When did he appear?Battlehymn Republic wrote:I’m still curious as to why Captain Pananka became a moff.

It's mentioned in the OT ITW.StarWarsJunkie89 wrote:When did this happen? I haven't heard of Moff Pananka before. When did he appear?Battlehymn Republic wrote:I’m still curious as to why Captain Pananka became a moff.
Anyway, Panaka became a Moff partially because he remained loyal to Palpatine.

I seem to recall "Moff Pananka" being mentioned in the ROTS:VD as well.

OH MY GOD. Are you sure? I should not have read this posts.skyman8081 wrote:It's in the DVD release. It's part of a victory montage added in the 1997 SE, the 2004 DVD added Naboo to it, with the "Weesa Free!" scream.
I wouldn't mind having Prequel Charcters SE'd into the OT, as long at the originals are also released.
I'll never watch ROTJ in the same way again...
Not so much a character, but I'd love to see some of the prequel ships show up in the Battle of Endor in ROTJ: some refurbished Naboo fighters, maybe a beaten-up ARC-170 or two. I have a hard time believing that all older ship models are scrapped every few years in favor of completely new stuff.

Considering how technologically stagnant the Star Wars universe is, would there really be that big a gap in performance? And considering how desperate the Rebel Allance is, how short on resources they must be, I'd think that they'd make use of any ships they had available.ray245 wrote:who doesn't want to use better weapons...ab=nd thoes ships are outdated...besides, the N1 fighters are pretty weak, as stated in the PT.
And above all I just want to see a bigger variety of ships...so many pretty designs from the prequels. It would look cool, IMHO.

I watched RotJ the day before yesterday and I clearly heard a familiar voice screaming "Weesa Free". I had never noticed it before. But is also clear that Jar-Jar is on Naboo, and not on Endor, because the scream is heard during the Naboo celebration shot.Rommie2006 wrote:OH MY GOD. Are you sure? The N-1 Naboo fighters would be sorely out of place. They would never be part of the Imperial squadrons seen in the movies, and, being the equivalent of the Blue Angels squadron (from what I've heard) from a single, Imperial-supporting planet, the odds of them turning up in the rebel forces are very slim.Kenoshi wrote:Not so much a character, but I'd love to see some of the prequel ships show up in the Battle of Endor in ROTJ: some refurbished Naboo fighters, maybe a beaten-up ARC-170 or two. The ARCs, on the other hand, would be perfect for the rebellion. They are long-ranged and durable heavy-hitters, something which would be a wonderful asset for the rebels. However, despite their prominence in RotS, it could be argued that the ICS vaguely implies that they are not common, or at least less so than the Z-95.

The N-1 may be "weak" fighter, but neither one is outdated. There is a technological stasis in the GFFA, and there is no evidence that the OT fighters perform better than the military fighters of the PT. In fact, if the 5e16 watt shield figure for the ARC-170 and the ability for the fighter to survive being "...surrounded by dozens or even hundreds of light, evasive droid fighters" (RotS:ICS, page 7) are to be believed, PT fighters perform more than comparably to their OT counterparts.ray245 wrote:who doesn't want to use better weapons...ab=nd thoes ships are outdated...besides, the N1 fighters are pretty weak, as stated in the PT.

IIRC there no shield stats in Real Life units for the Alpha Class Xg-1 Star Wing Assault gunboat, the BTL-A4 Y-wing or B-wing Starfighters (the ARC-170 equilevants in OT era), so while I think it would fit into the rebel fleet, I wouldn't better then OT craft without more evidence to back it up.Grandmaster Jogurt wrote:The N-1 may be "weak" fighter, but neither one is outdated. True. However, IIRC, all stats for fighter lasers that we have so far have been listed in the low kiloton level, and visual evidence from the movies indicates that similar levels are the case for OT fighter lasers. Since a few shots from these weapons in a timespan of roughly one second will down an X-Wing (in the tunnels of the second Death Star, it is almost certain that a barrage from a single TIE was the cause of one X-Wing's destruction), and the ARC-170's shields are rated at more than 10 megatons per second, the evidence shows that an ARC-170's shields are at least an order of magnitude higher than that of its most analogous OT craft.Lord Revan wrote:IIRC there no shield stats in Real Life units for the Alpha Class Xg-1 Star Wing Assault gunboat, the BTL-A4 Y-wing or B-wing Starfighters (the ARC-170 equilevants in OT era), so while I think it would fit into the rebel fleet, I wouldn't better then OT craft without more evidence to back it up.

Well in both ANH and ROTJ Y-wings have been in combat for while so their shield could have not been up to full specs (and T-65 X-wings are lighter then ARC-170). X-wing isn't equal to ARC-170 were as Y-wing is (X-wing is only a bit heavier then Z-95).

Thank you and as for OP I'd like to see species of the CIS in some minor role in the backround.Grandmaster Jogurt wrote:True. I guess I don't really have anything too solid to show that the ARC is notably more durable than the OT ships, so I'll concede.

Meh, they´ve been added to SW: Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees, and it takes place in the OT era. ARCs, Belbullabs and Eta-2 interceptors are available to all factions there, so they´re still seeing use.thoes ships are outdated..
Then there´s the brief shot of N-1s on Naboo in its one ROTJ-scene.
Seconded. Especially Geonosians on the DS/DS II, if only to piss off certain members on this board.I'd like to see species of the CIS in some minor role in the backround.
