Don't know the size of the Sovereign, but IIRC the Eclipse is larger than the Executor by a significant margin. Don't think the Executor would last on this one.

The Executor's got the length, but it don't have width. IIRC though the Sovereign class was to be a lesser Eclipse, although there isn't much to go on about the Sovereign.

Frankly, I give it to the Eclipse. It's the best.

Eclipse wins. It's bigger than both Executor and Sovereign, thus more likely to have greater reactor size and output. I also think that the Executor was designed with less armor than it should have, to allow for greater acceleration. As much as I prefer it over the ugly Eclipse, Palpatine's ride kicks its ass.

The Eclipse vs. Executor size thing is confusing. The Eclipse is 10 miles long, but that size was apparently based on the idea of making it twice as long as the Executor as described in WEG books (i.e., 5 miles). The Executor, however, is actually around 11 miles long, so the Eclipse's stated length ends up making it slightly shorter.

ADDENDUM: The Eclipse presumably has more mass than the Executor either way, however.

That's actually about 18 miles.

 I thought the Executor was 17.6 kilometers, i.e., 11 miles.

WTF????

Are you talking about the Executer or the Eclips?

You must be mistaken with the KMs and the Miles. The Executer is around 17.5 kms long.

I'm imagining a giant ramming tactic myself, spearing the Eclipse through with the Executor.

But wasnt the Eclipse's prow actually designed to ram smaller vessels?

Well, when you get that massive, it doesn't really matter. But actually, after looking intently at one of my Eclipse pictures, it does have a lot of area to ram with, if one would bother with such a thing, as opposed to blowing it all up.

But don't ruin my fantasy! mmm, destruction,

Mmrrmmm indeed, imagine the result of both ships lined up, and the captains shouting "Fire a Boradside!!!"

Mmmrr.. Several Km's worth of TL fire going off at once.. THAT would be a sight.

Something like thirty miles roughly. How many turbos do they have? Hundreds?

Each of those ships has thousands of turbolasers. The Eclipse's superior armour, shields, and armament (all stated to be extremely powerful) would allow it to obliterate the Executor quite easily, however.

As i understand it yes teh Sov has a superlaser (i may be mistaken though). It doenst matter however because superlasers are outlawed in this fight (DAMNIT!) and the Eclipse, despite being fugly, is far more bulky, armored and heavily armed. And i'm positive the Eclipse was designed to be able to ram, i recall reading that specifically, so yes it is possible to ram the Executor. :)

Personally i find the Executor to be more cool looking, though, and would prefer it. But the Eclipse still has superior power.

I think it depends a bit on whose onboard. Thrawn in the executor might, just might take out the sovereign, but would fall to the eclipse
WWDD What would dogbert do?
