So far, the basic canonic force powers I can recall fall into four categories:
- Prescience
Telekinesis
Telepathy and telepathic manipulation
Ability to see/sense spirits
Are there any others I'm missing?

The basics (at least with the RPGs) are even simpler:
Control
Sense
Alter
Pretty self explanatory. Control involves controlling personal abilities (like jumping real high, resisting injury from long falls, and accelerating healing), Sense involves sensing what cannot be picked up by the five senses (telepathy, spirit communication), and alter involves manipulating the outside world (telekinesis). More complicated powers (like the Mind Trick) involve a combination of two or all three of these.

Some Jedi (Healers like Barriss Offee) can use the force to repair and energize themselves and others, endowing them with life energy. Force Meditation falls under this category.

Under the Control/Sense/Alter form of power classification, probably all three (the morale effects on allies and enemies alike is a bit like Affect Mind). At the very least it is big time on Sense (since you have to know what's going on) and Alter (since you have to manipulate the thoughts and emotions of the people in the battle).

"Damage reduction/avoidance" (?) Since Jedi seem to be able to recover from falls, impacts and nearby explosions/fires/lava that would kill a normal person (and Jedi don't wear armor in the movies).
Force Speed.
Force Lightning (and ability to Absorb Force Lightning, block, deflect and redirect it).
Force Distract (unless this is a variant of Mind Trick, what Ben Kenobi does to those troopers on the DS1).
Force Heal (or possibly some kind of telepathic 'recovery assistance'... depending upon how you interpret scenes of Ben putting his hand on Luke's head/Palpatine putting his hand on Anakin's head). Possibly also used by Obi-Wan on himself to heal his flesh wounds in AOTC.
"Calm down monster with the Force" (a variant of the "alter" idea?).
Ability to "hide" from other Force sensitives.
Combat assistance (making punches and kicks strong where they normally would just hurt you more than your target, like against metal droids and armored foes).
Ability to see the past.

In I, Jedi, Corran Horn had a particularly powerful version of the mind trick that probably needs to be classified as a different ability- he could project an image into someone's (or a group of people's) minds that made them think they were seeing something that wasn't real, or that he was somewhere other than where he was. For example, at the Jedi Academy, he made all of the other students think they saw him telekinetically lift a large boulder.

That is pretty similar to the Doppleganger effect Palpatine did, I'm pretty sure that was classified under Affect.

Healers: I think they would fall under TK and TP, by improving neural connections and rushing blood to damage sites.
Speed: TK.
Hiding from other force sensitives: TP
Combat assistance: TK
Ability to see past: function of prescience
Damage reduction and avoidance: TK?
The point is, I'm trying to synthesize all the abilities down to one basic power. The one problem so far is classifying lightning.

What was that? Are you talking about his "possession" power, when he basically took over a clone body? Horn's power is, according to the book, a combination of control, alter, and sense, but it seems a lot different from Palpatine's power.

I'm guessing he means the Palpatine charade (SW.com notwithstanding) or the Force illusion that Luke used in DE to fool Leia into thinking he was coming with them on the Falcon.
EDIT: grammar.

Yeah, thats it. Its been a long time since I read DE, I thought Palpatine did it himself. No matter though.
