The Chiss

Post by johnmarkley »

I haven't kept up much with the EU since I read my first KJA trilogy. (Shudder) Could someone tell me what information there is on the Chiss? All I know is that Thrawn is one of them.

Read the Hand of Thrawn duology, by Timothy Zahn. The two books are Spectre of the Past and Vision of the Future. Both are rather excellent.

The Chiss also make an appearance in the New Jedi Order, but I can't remember which book. It's more of a cameo than anything else.

Well, they (obviously) have blue skin and I believe they managed to defeat an imperial fleet that was sent to conquer them (that's how Thrawn got into the imperial navy, they were impressed by his tactics).

Not quite. According to Admiral Voss Parck (the captain who was sent to capture Thrawn) Thrawn had his men tied up on the surface of the planet for weeks before they were able to capture him.

What Thrawn did manage to do was to effectively defeat an Old Republic taskforce sent to destroy the Outbound Flight. Then, after Kinman Doriana informed him about the Outbound Flight, he also managed to destroy that.

Of course, I've researched this topic heavily because the first part of my fanfic's plot revolves around it...
