Does anyone think for someone who is most powerful jedi ever, the choosen one, the one bringing balance to the Force Anakin Skywalker was treated like dirt ? Should not he have been a VIP with the best of the Jedi order assigned with him ? They did not even want to take the kid at first citing his age in TPM if my memory serves correct. Maybe it is possible many Jedi did not take the prophecy related to Anakin seriously ?

The council was probably concerned that special treatment could go to his head, and possibly increase his susceptibility to the dark side (not that it mattered in the end.)

Just because there is a prophecy that happens to coincide with how strong Anakin is doesn't mean that he gets a free pass. The Jedi didn't give him special treatment because he had to earn his place and gain both respect and trust which he did not yet have. Remember he was considered extremely young, almost prohibitively young, for the positions he was seeking.

Anakin also did alot of reckless stuff as he was growing up in the Temple and was probably known as a bit of a trouble maker or prankster. They probably just started to dread dealing with him.

Obi Wan is
the best Jedi swordsman according to Mace Windu, and he gets onto the council. Short of Yoda or Mace taking him as a padawan, what more do you want?

Don’t forget, that the Jedi were very careful about how they perceived the prophecy in the first place. In Episode III, Mace and Yoda comment on how the prophecy could have been ''misinterpreted'', and how it could have terrible implications if it was.
Hell, the prophecy says little except '‘to bring balance back to the force’', if that’s not vague I don’t know what is. When read simply like that, one could surmise that the prophecy could just as easily favour the Sith just as much as it could the Jedi. I think the Jedi order were very conscience of this, and was treating it as such by not allowing Anakin to simply just waltz in on into their ranks.
If that isn’t enough, Anakin exceeded the safe age limit in being initiated as a Jedi learner, which allowed him a normal past life, such as being able to feel ‘love, which is anathema in Jedi practice.

Whores!
No, seriously, It seems to me that Anakin did indeed get special treatment. He seems to spend a lot of his time around the Jedi Council, and not to mention the god-damned Supreme Chancellor of the galaxy! I don't think ordinary Jedi get to do that...

Probably not...
Revan (memory-wiped version) never even
met the Coruscant Council, (probably did, but just can't remember).

Yeah, but that was more of the Supreme Chancellors doing then the Jedi Order. Anakin would have probably turned out just fine had it not been for the Chancellors interest in him. Secretly, subtly manipulating him.

Another Reason that they did want him was because of his previous attachments and memories he has already had. Normal Jedi are brought into the world without any knowledge of a life they have had with their parents. I do not believe he special privliges......why? Becuse if he did they would have beleived that was the chosen one and would have gave him to a master jedi before Obi-Wan. Even though he promise Qui-Gon.

I think the real reason they did not want him in the first place was because he was the Chosen one....and I mean the Sith'ari

Well was Obiwan that much skilled when he first took Anakin as his apprentice ? He himself was a student in TPM untill Qui-Gon died right ?

Obi-Wan did kill Maul a Dark Lord of the Sith. That means he was elevated to super star in the Jedi Order. They thought if Obi-Wan could kill a Sith Lord then that was good enough for them.
