After playing KotOR1 several Times over, and listening to every single character whine his or her arse off... I encountered a strangely familiar description from Canderous Ordo's War Stories...
Apparently, he encountered an almost Living Asteroid which Fired Balls of Lava/Plasma at him and his crewmates.
Sound like the ships of anyone we know?
Has anyone else encountered this? I've encountered it quite a few times personally.

Everyone except you.
Honestly, it's damn easy to cultivate Canderous and get his war stories, and they're nifty too.

I guess it could be a little easter egg. I don't see how it has any relevance otherwise, unless something happens with Canderous after you kill that guy on Tatooine (I've never been able to make him tell me anything new after that, but then again, I've never tried very hard).

I have, its been a while since ive played KOTOR I but i believe he says, him and his group had reached the end of the galaxy, he began to give chase but the ship that hurtled fire was to fast and escaped through the galactic rim which Candorus and his team were afraid to go past

That's exactly what he said, though he didn't talk about any of them being afraid. I believe his words were "anything that wants to kill itself out beyond the galactic rim is not worth the effort trying to catch."
I guess one could say that the ship Canderous ran into was a Vong scout, which had fallen into some misfortune while checking out the Star Wars galaxy for potential invasion, and rushed to report back once it had been freed.

Then that means the Vong take LONG fucking time to go from the scouting to the invading

My guess is that the Scout simply got lost or malfunctioned (it might not be a piloted creature) and then tried to head home after being freed. IIRC, the Vong are still trolling around their own galaxy at that point in the past.

Or, given the Vong drive speeds are similiar to hyperdrive (at least in galaxy) someone tried an intergalactic trip to escape the war's the Vong were fighting, or to set up a base elsewhere to build up and then go back.
Or it simply took on hell of a wrong turn

This is probably the most likely scenario, since the final Vong scouting took place shortly after TPM (leading to Vergere's disappearance). Even assuming they spent the entire ~50 years building up their forces and preparing for an attack, it wouldn't explain away the 4000 year gap.

The thing got lost along the way, or it came from elsewhere, perhaps from early Zonoma Sekot or something

Ther is a small explanation in the book "Vector prime" that 3P0 explains the dialect that the Vhong use is primitive to that of a existence long before the republic. Maybe the Vhong were alive then and moved to the unknown for certain reasons.

what if at that point they were scouting the local galaxies....shortly before final consolidation of their home galaxy for possivbl places to spread their religion too?
By the time they had finished they were war weary and decided top rest and recuperate from the long struggle ....but the scout never made it back so they had to send more out when they did.
