The Clone Wars and Khomm

Post by Darth Fanboy »

I was wondering if there has been any attempts by anyone to connect the people of Khomm (EU Jedi Dorsk 81's home planet for the unawares) and the Clone Wars. It would seem to me that a known planet of cloners who have been practicing that science for many generations would have garnered some attention. I have not come across anything mentioning Khomm in the Pre-ANH EU, anyone else?

Nothing in pre-ANH EU, as far as I know, but I believe it's now a given that the ecological disaster upon the Nogrhi world... uhh... *smacks self* Sorry, I thought you were talking about Honogrhr... that'll teach me to post without coffee...

Anyway! AFAIK, there's nothing connecting Dorsk 81's world to the Clone Wars. One may presume, though, that they were slightly inspired by it. However, Dorsk being the eighty-first in his generation, and others upon his world being much further down the generational line, I imagine they were doing this kind of thing long before the Wars. Since it was restricted to their own planet, I imagine the Republic ignored them, and with the whole 'clones=OMG WAR!!!1!' stigma they'd have been shunned politely by the other planets-- it certainly had enough of an isolationist mentality (perhaps dating from the Wars, and caused by them?) in the first place.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

In a HoloNetNews Feature (printed in SWI), they were said to be affected by the Republic's new cloning laws stating that only the state could authorize cloning due to the new clone army. This apparently created problems for the Khommites until they could get authorization.

How long was said feature? Any more details?

Just a few paragraphs, I'll post the article if I ever decide to dig it out.
