What source are all these people using to say that Yoda's full name is Yoda D'Kana, that he's a Whill, and is from Grentarik?

Let me check the Unofficial SW Encyclopedia...
Grentarik does not appear.
Nor does Whills, as a race. There is a Journal of the Whills, however, that recount the Skywalker saga.

There is an exert from the Journal of the Whills at the beginning of the ANH novelisation. That's as much about that journal as I know. Rumor is that Yoda is a whill. however, I doubt it.

The starwars.com DB is rather incomplete. You're lucky to get extremely detailed information on many important subjects, much less obscure ones.

EpITPMVD doesn't say what the species is though. Just the names, Yoda and Yaddle.

With characters though you usually get a little background, cannon, Eu and behind the scenes. Surely there would be some mention if any of a last name?

It's a fan invention, hell I think one of them managed to sneak it into the IMDB but still it's only a fan creation.

That is currious how Yoda's species is never talked about when in the past Gl had bent over backwards to give full backgrounds to even bit part caracters. Maybe it's all part of his big suprise endign for Episode 3?
