I really though that Palpatine and Sidious were different people. Though never doubted that Senator/Supreme Chancellor Palps and Emperor Palps were one and the same. My idea was that Sith Lord Palpatine never gave two shits about the "Only Two Sith at a time" rule and the RotS twist would that not only was Palpatine a Sith Lord, but he had allowed his apprentice Sidious to have an apprentice of his own (Maul and latter Tyranus) in order to throw-off the Jedi.

*At the end of large epic Lightsaber-to-lightsabe battle:

TYRANUS: *dies*
SIDIOUS: *dies*
MACE WINDU: *continues to rot in pieces*
OBI-WAN: We have done it the Sith are dead!
YODA: Only two at a time, no less no more. Sith, these two, and dead they are. Success, in destroying the Sith, we have.
PALPATINE: *enters*
Guess again bitches!!!!!
*snaps fingers*
ANAKIN: *Reveals he has turned to the Dark Side*
I will own all the evil Jedi!!
AUDIENCE: *Gasps*

How could you have thought Sidious and Palpatine weren't one and the same? They were even played by the same guy. I know lots of fanboys thought this as well, but no offense, the idea was retarded.

As for myself, I thought Grievous would be a lot tougher than he was in the movie, based on all the misleading EU material like the cartoon, comics, and novels. The EU portrayed him like the Terminator: unstoppable, relentless, and terrifying. He had collected numerous lightsaber trophies, and he could own a half-dozen Jedi Knights and Masters at once. Force pushes and other powers couldn't even bring him down. In ROTS, he sounded like a cripple with his nonstop coughing. Instead of the Terminator, he seemed more like a slippery, cowardly villain who always had an escape plan and lived to fight another day. He wasn't shown killing any Jedi onscreen. From just watching the movie, you could come to the conclusion that all his trophies were picked off of Jedi who were surrounded and/or killed by his troops, like Anakin and Obi-wan in the Invisible Hand scenes.

I also thought the Battle of Coruscant would be a lot bigger and more spectacular. This was partially because that was what I wanted, but also because Pablo Hidalgo (was it him?) hyped it up as better than Endor. The scene served just to show the friendship and comraderie between Anakin and Obi-wan, and the battle was just a backdrop. That's fine, but I think a lot of us were just expecting a holy shit space battle in the final Star Wars movie.

To be fair, he was only seen facing two of the most powerful Jedi in the Order, but he would have worked a lot better as a character if the Shaak Tii sequence had been kept.

And as for the coughing, it should be remembered that that pretty much ended after he left the Invisible Hand, even if it was over the top then.

No, it ended more or less after he arrived on Utapau.

I was also disappointed by Grievous as a villian. Jim Raynor said it well; I was expecting a terrifying and effective leader and Grievous never approached that for me. I felt that the Separatist movement was somewhat trivialized by this.

It really would have been perfect. I mean yes, say what you will about the 'small galaxy' problem (some people i've met think that every Star Wars story follows the same people instead of 'expanding') and yeah it's corny...

But shit that would have been cool!

Shaak Ti is the Jedi Master with pink skin and horns. She was in AOTC, but I think all her scenes in ROTS were cut.

I expected Anakin to jump into the lava willingly, ala Luke in ESB.

I frankly can't remember what I expected, although I recall that I didn't actually speculate much of anything, much like I did with the first two.

i dont recall Jedi ever practiciing any jujitsu type moves withought their lightsabers. I mean a Jedi is raised on his/her lightsaber. they choose a technique going into Padawan life and then another once their Jedi Knights and masters. there is no Jedi non-lightsaber fu

And before The Empire Strikes back, as far as we knew, Darth Vader had killed Luke's father. Before The Phantom Menace, there were no midichlorians. Before Attack of the Clones, Yoda had never been known to use a lightsabre and Artoo was flightless. Just because there's been no mention of unarmed Jedi combat up to this point doesn't mean that it couldn't have been added in for Episode III.

I don't believe that there's much record of such occuring in the EU, either.
