Boba Fett
Why didn't Boba Fett have an English-type accent like Jango Fett did? All of the other clones had his accent, and they were even altered, so why didn't he have an English accent as well?

Not to mention why all future Stormtroopers have non-English accents.

Re: Boba Fett
Probably because an accent isn't genetic. If he grew up some place different than Jango he probably picked up a different one.IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Why didn't Boba Fett have an English-type accent like Jango Fett did? Isn't Lucas redubbing the stormies for the DVD?IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Not to mention why all future Stormtroopers have non-English accents.
Fragment of the Lord of Nightmares, release thy heavenly retribution. Blade of cold, black nothingness: become my power, become my body. Together, let us walk the path of destruction and smash even the souls of the Gods! RAGNA BLADE!

If that's true doesn't it mean the Imperial officers aren't that observant. Han and Luke are able to pass as troopers despite Luke being too short, and Han not having the same voice. The officer should have known that Han wasn't a trooper if he is going to sound different from every other trooper. Same for Luke being too short.IG-88E wrote:Yes.Darth Yoshi wrote:Isn't Lucas redubbing the stormies for the DVD?IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Not to mention why all future Stormtroopers have non-English accents.

He might just have seen the armor and passed them with out even thinking about it. Never underestimate the soothing effect of familiarity.neoolong wrote:If that's true doesn't it mean the Imperial officers aren't that observant. a few points/questions
1. It's a New Zealand accent, not English.
2. Where did Lucas state he was re-doing the stormtrooper voices? I am not disputing this, but I just want to know where it came from. TFN Spy Report perhaps?
3. Your accent can change over time depending on the accents of people you associate with, just look at how mangled Australian accents get when out film and tv stars go overseas (eg Kylie Minogue WHAT THE HELL?!)
4. I agree with Stormbringer's point about familiarity.

But where?? I'm pretty sure it's not in the commentary and I've watched maybe half of the documentary stuff on disc 2.Stormbringer wrote:Sardaukar wrote: 2. AotC DVD is supposed to have it statements to that effect.

I hope he didn't do anything so idiotic as redubbing all the stormtrooper voices in the entire trilogy with the guy who played Jango Fett.
What's the point? As somebody pointed out before, he had the technology to do that in ANH.. why didn't he use the same actor's voice, if he intended to all along?
Sounds like a brain bug bit George, if you ask me.
And I agree, an accent is not genetic, and can be changed over time, so why should that even matter?
It could be worse... he could be planning to paste the actor's face on all of the officers/commandos as well. ; p
That's also stupid. The officers and Navy troopers are not clones. They come from the Imperial Academy!Boba Fett wrote:Huh...Now that would make the movie a bit boring and confusing as well!Kurgan wrote:It could be worse... he could be planning to paste the actor's face on all of the officers/commandos as well. ; p
Big misunderstandging here: I didn't mean the Boba Fett seen in the OT, I meant the young 10 year-old Boba Fett who was raised by his father with the New Zealand accent and yet has no accent himself. And all of the other 10 year-old clones whose growth were accelerated had the exact same voice as Jango Fett. So why doesn't Boba Fett have that same New Zealand accent as a child?

They may have used Bobba's voice to program whatever driod or device they used to teach the clones speech.IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Big misunderstandging here: I didn't mean the Boba Fett seen in the OT, I meant the young 10 year-old Boba Fett who was raised by his father with the New Zealand accent and yet has no accent himself. Ba, meant to add. Boba on the other hand would have been around a lot of different humans over the course of his development.Sea Skimmer wrote:They may have used Bobba's voice to program whatever driod or device they used to teach the clones speech.IRG CommandoJoe wrote:Big misunderstandging here: I didn't mean the Boba Fett seen in the OT, I meant the young 10 year-old Boba Fett who was raised by his father with the New Zealand accent and yet has no accent himself.
