What Starfighter Should be Featured in Episode III?
In the OT, X-wings and Y-wings were the featured fighters, followed by A-wings and B-wings in ROTJ. The Naboo N-1 debuted in TPM, and in AOTC the audience was introduced to the Delta-7. Each new fighter became the "it" fighter of its time, with lots of advertising and merchandise centered around it. When Episode III comes out, what type of fighter would you like to see get center stage in the movie?

TIEs and maybe Y-Wings.
From what I understand the X-Wing was supposed to be kind of a suprise new fighter that the Rebellion got because of some engineers fleeing the Empire. If that is so I wouldn't want them showing up so soon even if it would be cool.

Republic TIE's slaughter the existing Separatists designs. My hopes of this, or having them launch from a group of Victories encased in Dreadnoughts and escorting a new before seen trio of 10km battleships are low though.

They should use TIE fighters and N-1's in Episode III, along with the Jedi Starfighter. Remember that Episodes II and III are only a couple of years apart at the most. The technology and design of starfighters should not change significantly in that time, but the TIE is a necessary addition to help link the OT and the prequels together.

I want to see the original Tie fighters, which later evolve into the classic tie fighters and interceptors of the classic trilogy.

Hmm....Z-95's were still around in Episode I...I remember a pilot mentioning them in the novel. So if they were going to show up in Episode III, they wouldn't be new at all. I think TIEs would be absolutely necessary for Episode III, and if the movie covers anything at all about the beginnings of the Rebellion, Y-Wings must also be shown. Maybe an older TIE prototype would be cool...

Not really, GL has put many EU vehicles in his movies and Special EDs. Swoops, the Outrider, Stormtrooper Transport, and I think there's more. Have hope.Sardaukar wrote:I find it very unlikely that we'll see anything from the EU. So no TIEs and no Z-95s. It would be cool, but like I said, unliekly.
I just Hope that there is a Z-95 Headhunter, the X-wing's predecessor.

T.I.E.s Gotta love those mass produced fighters.
I wonder if they'll have lighter color paint on it as it was in ANH if they do put TIEs in Ep. III.........

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I never got that. Why are ANH TIES gray, but ESB-onward TIES blue?

Maybe they upgraded their armor?? Or maybe they found the blue paint to be more cost effective?

Maybe... but SOTE was a pretty high level EU explosion that was being made around roughly the same time as the Special Editions... and there's no Stormtrooper Transport in the special editions, the Sentinel-Class Landing craft (which I think is what you are referring to) was never seen in any EU source before it was invented for the SE. Stormtrooper Transport usually refers to the Delta-Class DX-9 from the X-Wing games.THEHOOLIGANJEDI wrote:Not really, GL has put many EU vehicles in his movies and Special EDs. Lucas put Adi Gallia in AotC, she's from the EU. But I don't think that he's gonna go so far as to have z95s, Dreadnoughts and VSDs in ep3. Although TIEs, or something similar *might* pop up.

Curtis Saxton wrote:The new standard TIE/ln fighter is visually distinguished from its basic TIE predecessor by the darker hue of its primary hull alloys. Faster and more durable, it still lacks hyperspace capabilities, but may be capable of more extended sublight flight, such as the pursuit of the Millennium Falcon from Hoth. The manufacture of a single TIE/ln is supposed to cost 60000 credits.
