How does the Empire get the Imperial Walkers to the surface of the planets in the original trilogy? Is it those drop ships? Because it so, those are pretty big drop ships.

Each ISD carries 12 landing barges capable of holding 4 AT-ATs and 1,000 troops.

Transporters .

Actually, I think it was the transports. I've heard things about them being stored with the legs folded, though I think that would cause all sorts of stress problems.

It has drop barges that are capable of deploying thousands of troops in a prefabricated garrison to a planet, including walkers.

Both dropships and prefab garrisons are capable of holding AT-ATs.

I don't have any problem with the blue box dropships used in Force Commander and in the hangar of the ISD in the SWICS, a walker looks like it's going into something similar to those drop ships.
They are basically a box that fits over the top of a crouching AT-AT.
Here's a pic

Hey! Does anyone notice that bears a striking resemblance to the Trade Federation MTT?

But that battle is one of the coolest Star Wars battles I've seen...

Not suprising since they both are utility craft for almost the same job. Form follows function.

Mmm....nah. The MMT mainly delivers battle droids and the AT-AT barge delivers AT-ATs exclusively. They only stay in the atmosphere for as long as they need to and go right back up to the Star Destroyer it came from, unlike the MMT.

That's another reason I like it. I don't know if the similarity was on purpose or a coincidence...

But they're still meant to perform the same style of duty: bring troops from a capship and deleiver them to the field of battle.

If you find out why I'm laughing now, I'll then laugh more than you can possibly imagine!

I think it does look like the Trade Fed ship too.
