Everything I've read indicates that the ARC-170 carries warheads, but I can't seem to locate the launcher. Could someone enlighten me?

This has been bugging me too. According to the Visual Dictionary it's part of the laser cannon structure. (the VD calls it a projectile cannon). But, the ICS says that part of the structure is a targeting rangefinder. So...

Edit: Here's the part I'm talking about circled.

The ICS also notes that the ARC carries six proton torpeados in the description, but does not seem to lable a launcher of storage on the illustration.

Parts of the craft I haven't yet been able to examine include the rear and underside. Anyone have pics?

Perhaps they are affixed to the wings somehow, like a modern fighter's missile hard points.

There seems to be a little square like a sensor window in the nose... could that be a cover of some sort for the torpedo tube?

No, the ICS labels that as somehting else. It's highly irregular to have a torpedo tube there as well, that's where youd' expect sensors to be in the absence of any blasters (like the Y-Wing).

Saying as how the ARC foghter is a forefather to the X-Wing i'd have guessed that the torp launcher is in the same place, along each side of the cockpit. Ofcourse i've never seen the RotS ICS beyound a quick flick through in a bookshop.

The nose contains com/scan equipment, repulsorlifts, landing gear, and a headlight. There doesn't appear to be room for torpedoes there.

It finally occured to me to just google it. The toys have a slot-shaped proton torpedo launcher on the bottom centerline, between or just in front of the intakes. The torpedoes launch ventrally, parallel to the ship, and have a long cylinder behind the familiar cone. Possibly a two-stage or high-yield variety, compared to the X-Wing's torpedoes.

I rather like that idea.
