Just a question: I'm not much into EU - so I just want to know how old Admiral Daala is supposed to be. In most illustrations of her that I have seen, she appears to be 25-30, (OK, perhaps in her early thirties) and doesn't that seem like quite a low age for such a high-ranking officer?

She slept with Tarkin inorder to become an Admiral, I believe.

I'm sure it would have taken her much longer to become an admiral without Takrin, perhaps she'd have to settle for a lower rank. Why else would she sleep with him?

That is the point he's bringing out. That she's such a young admiral because she slept with Tarkin.

Actually, if you read her bio at starwars.com, it says that she was constantly overlooked when it came time for promotions, until she won some simulations against various people and Tarkin took her under his wing, teaching her and promoting her to admiral.

Of course you'd say that, Admiral. But you have to remember, Daala's first and only assignment until Han, Kyp, and Chewie showed up was to guard the Maw. It's an 11 yr. comm blackout.

Well her mental age is somewhere in the range of 6 or 7. Anyone want to contest this?

I've been over this before, Daala was a good tatician, she deserved her comission. People take it all out of context that she was screwing Tarkin at the time. The man was a Grand Moff he coulda shagged any woman he wanted. She was a cadet at Cardia and she was over looked. So she forged an identidy for herself and started playing war games online. Her tatics were new and inovative and this drew the attention of Tarkin, he sent 3 slicers to find her. When the bosses of cardia found out that their great tatician was a female they punished her. So tarkin whisked her way and put her in charge of his most important instalation. No shag is worth 4 ISD's, and Tarkin wasn't that inept that he would let his johnson make his decisions

I know Daala is considered a huge joke here, but i like her caracter. Even if KJA keps trying to fuck over his own creation. What can i say i have a thing for Powerful women and red heads. But serriously is any woman worth 4 ISD's and your head on the chopping block. Don't forget Tarkin made that disicion to promote her on his own, he would have been severely repremanded if not killed if Palpy found out.

But he put her in charge of the Maw Installation because NO ONE AT ALL knew of its existence! He isolated it from the rest of the galaxy and even the rest of the Empire and gave her four pretty ISDs to make her feel important so that he could take her military tactics and use them as his own to get in good with Palpatine. THAT is why he had the interest in her. To screw her over both ways.

Moreover, if he really did care about her advancing in the Imperial Navy, he would have assigned her to active combat duty. Then she would have actually made a difference before her tactics became obsolete in the 11 years she was at the Maw Installation. If she had been commanding those 4 ISDs in actual combat areas, she would have definitely made things a lot harder for the Rebellion. But no, Tarkin had to selflishly hide her at the Maw Installation and use her tactics for his own advancements in the Empire.
