Rebel ground forces OoB

Ok, anyone know the organization of rebel ground forces? Or have any hints of it? We know the GAR OoB, we know the Imperial Army OoB, but I see scant little information about that o the Rebellion. The Rebel Alliance SB makes only a ew vague hints. Empire At war says 5 to a squad and 15 to a company, though they may have mistaken company and platoon (which still sems rather small for a platoon). By BFC time ships of the new class were carrying whole regiments, numbering 3200 strong, but we don't know if there was a change in between there. The Swarm war has them having platoons with 32 droids, but there could have been a reorganization. Anyone have any sources to help?

I dout that pre-NR Rebel Alliance had any clear and/or Unified OoB, due to their nature.

Indications are they had a good system set up for fighter bases and their fleet, their actual ground forces should also have one.

Now thier individual cells, I'll agree with. But actual military forces should be organized.

I dout that rebel alliance had any ground forces during that time, just sectorial/planetary militias(who would use their planets OoB) and special forces after all the Rebels couldn't aford surface battles with the Empire during pre-NR era.

no, the Rebel Alliance SB makes mention of them and their training.

From the Rebel SB we know that

1) A Rebel regiment is the same size as an unknown Imperial regiment (differnt imp services and types of regiments have different strengths remember)
2) 1 Imperial division is 4 regiments strong
3) 1 Imperial regiment is 2x as strong as atleast 2 rebel battalions ( => at least 4 battalions to a regiment)

This information comes from a description of a land battle against an Imperial force.

I stand corrected then, though the Rebels have good reasons to keep their OoB hiden (assuming it even exists).

Yes, but there should still be hints of things.

it's possible IIRC a lot of the SW RPG fluff is assumed to writen by rebels so they they probably would keep any hints as few as possible.

The SW wiki has this:

http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/Cat ... tary_units

But I don't know if that helps. :/

If anything the Battle of Hoth proves that the Alliance had at least a small army with infantry, artillery, and air support. Before the emperor's death there wasn't a great need for a large army so the Rebels may only have the equivalent of area security forces (to protect their bases), and a rapid reaction force of about brigade or corp strength.
